How big of a camper trailer???

Just out of curiosity, I know about Bunk House size trailers that are pulled with a 2 wheelers. How big of a pop up type camper like Fleetwood, Jayco etc., could you pull behind a trike?

Pulling no problem stopping is. I pulled a 5X 10 foot open trailer behind my trike for 13miles up and down fairly steep hills, down hill was ruff on the brakes , /trailer weight was just over 600 lbs my guess 400lb is a good limit.

A motorcycle trike conversion would be able to pull less than a 2 wheeler. The extra weight of the trike kit (body, frame,rear suspension components, auto tires and wheels, etc.) reduces the amount of mass the trike can pull. The more weight, the more strain on the engine and drivetrain. And as John said, stopping safely is more of a factor with increased weight. Now a Stallion can pull more than a Goldwing trike I suppose, and a large V8 trike like a Kopavi or Ecstacy might could pull (and stop) a smaller lightweight pup camper.

As for as stopping goes a trike has more stoping power then a two wheeler,but I would not be pulling any thing bigger then a regular motorcycle camper,even with a trike and the extra braking power a sudden stop could cause you to jack knife with the extra weight of a regular pop up camper.
Most small pop up campers still weigh in around a thousand pounds are more.
This is just way too much weight to be pulling around behind a motor cycle two wheeler are trike no matter what brand of motorcycle are trike kit.

Looks like wife will continue to camp out in a motel. She thought we could get a bigger trailer and have more ammenities since we have the trike. She likes a soft bed and a hot shower.:yes:

We have ordered a Quicksilver 6.0 to pull with our trike. I hope we haven't made a mistake....will let you know how it works out. We did order with brakes and will take no more than we took on our timeout, just hoping we will be able to pack it easier and set up easier.

Newtriker what is it going to weigh totaly loaded?
If it is going to weigh more then 450 to five hundred pounds then I would not recomend it.
With you and your corider and luggage already on the bike how much weight is the trike going to be carrying.
Some people forget about how much weight a bike is carring before they start pulling something else.

The QS 6.0 is 630 lbs, with tongue wt of about 70 lbs. Fully loaded, we think the trailer will be about 950.

Newtriker are you planning on pulling that trailer with your GW 1500? You might want to do a lot of investigating. My opinion ONLY that seems a little much for that trike. A VW, Stallion or a Boss Hog that have auto type drive trains and therefor MIGHT handle it. That is alot of trailer to tow.

We have the GL1800. Livinlite advertises that the 6.0 can be pulled with small cars or large motorcycles, so I hope that's true. We special ordered it with axles specifically placed to lessen the tongue weight and we'll balance when loading it. We also ordered with surge brakes, hoping that will work for us. When we pulled the Timeout, we couldn't even feel it behind us, but this one will be about 300 lbs more loaded. We haven't gotten it yet, still waiting on it to be shipped so we can go pick it up. Planning on a long summer trip with it.
