Home made trike differential / rear axle question

Hi everyone, having build a trike in the past from a 2001 Yamaha v Star and a modified 1989 Mustang rear axle, I am now wondering if a Golf cart rear axle / differential would be strong enough and suitable ? I mean the older style all steel made Harley Davidson or similar Axle . i doubt the gearing would do but I guess this can also be modified for speed but would the bearings and gear survive speed ?

Did any of you tried and what was the results ?

No experience but golf carts a designed to go around 20 to 25 mph and a trike much faster. I would be doing a lot of research on that.
