HI GUYS

I am building a front engine vw trike almost ready to weld up the frame just mocking things up now i have to bend a few more tubes i am wondering about the double trans main shaft i have the idea of what use the main shaft and reverse gear to make it but thinking i need to use hardened steel for the extension has anyone built there own shaft ?
