I put a deposit down on a Freewheeler that ships end of November.

I joined to get as much info on it before I bite the bullet. I love the look of the Freewheeler but I felt a little cramped when I sat on one. I'm 6'3" 165lbs. I'm going to have to get the Tallboy seat.

Any impressions on the Freewheeler is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Trike Talk, we are all happy to have you on this site. We live in south county (Affton).
We purchased our Renegade a little over a year ago and we love it. It is great for tall people. ThumbUp

Hey There! Welcome to our house!

I have a '14 Tri-Glide and I went and sat on one of those Freewheelers..... I am sorry to say I was not impressed. I had high expectations. I am 5'4" and my legs felt cramped, I have no doubt how you felt on it! I like the retro look of them and I loved how the back end opened up. That was very, very cool.
I have a feeling for as tall as you are you will be trading up a lot sooner than later. If you have a rider, you may want to reconsider the purchase as well because that just was not comfortable. Just a thought Roadsmith may have a nice work around on the leg room issue ( I could be wrong, but they have impressed me on the magic they do).
The other thing is I love my electronics...... *sighs* I am sorry to admit that because now everyone will know I am a true geek. The Freewheeler just didn't have that spark at least for me......I know I am spoiled... that Tri-Glide spoiled the hell outta me.
If you look at the Specs of the Freewheeler, I believe they are lighter than The Tri-Glide; 2 inches shorter (if I recall); less luggage area, if that matters to you; engine was about the same; drive train was the same and honestly they do look sleeker....(see how I keep coming back to the looks of them). For the amount of dollars you are putting out, you will still have great enjoyment just because it is a trike and they are fun. Honestly, it is the most fun I have had with my clothes on for a very long time! I love triking and the joy of riding has come back for me....and my boyfriend is happy too because now he rides the Sporty and doesn't have me doting over it like I do the Tri-Glide.
And when you do get your new trike... try zymol on the finish --- it is just a religious experience (for me). I have close to a 25" shine on that puppy ohhh yeah!!!! The dealership just shake their heads at this old great granny when she rides in! hehehehe
Let us know what you finally decide and for heaven's sake TAKE MANY MANY pictures and post them!!!

I'm a novice, so I'll definitely be riding safe like. I did have a yamahaYZ125when I was a teenage and if I wasn't lying in bed Sunday night aching somewhere, I must have not been able to ride. Then my roommate (army) had a crotch rocket and I would swap my Lincoln Mark VII. I never laid it down except once in a gravel parking lot going super slow while turning around. No damage except my ego. I didn't take the twisties hard I was too afraid of crashing.

The Freewheeler is 103 cubic inches! I didn't think much of it until my buddy told me it was just shy of 1700cc. Way to much for a novice but it's not like HD has a trike with say 1100cc. I'lIjust ave to be extra safethe first year. Even if I'm feeling confident, I'm not going over the recommended speed in the twisties. 0-60MPH is a different story! I'm going to get a full face helmet too. Once I'm good I'll buy a half helmet for those cruising days. I'm getting a Bell Bullit. Check it out. It's pretty cool.

I'd love to hookup with some local riders for some day rides too!
