Hey numbnuts, RIP Don Rickles

I don't know what it is/was but I could never warm up to Don Rickles and his style of humor. Same with Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams, and a few more I could name. All are considered comedic geniuses but they just didn't do it for me. However that being said my dislike for him didn't hurt his long and distinguished career. RIP Don Rickles.

My sister was a pit boss at Harrah's Lake Tahoe and said he was the nicest celebrity she met. My mom also worked there in the 80's as a PBX operator and he would send gift baskets to them whenever he was in town. Sounds like a good guy.

My face literally hurt the day after seeing one of his shows 25 years ago. We need laughter and he supplied it no matter who you were. He'll be missed Rest in peace you crazy son-of-a-biotch. Can't type it the way he'd say it though.:(

Rickels, Foster Brooks, johnathin Winters, Geo Carlin, all that great comedy is gone

At least I lived to see and enjoy it. It will never-never get old.

Just amagine what's going on in heaven with all of them together

A lot of the greats are fading away

Unfortunately the newer generation are ruder, cruder, and more partisan baiting in their form of humor.

While Don Rickles was the "Master of Insult", you always had the feeling that it was never truly a personal attack and meant to be tongue in cheek for the laugh.

We have gotten much too thin skinned in this day and age and fail to see the humor when we poke fun at ourselves. It was almost an honor to be insulted by him. We've taken being PC much too far.

My $.02 worth.

OMG! Was that funny- thank you for sharing! :clapping::clapping:

I spit up my beer laughing................:gah:

I really liked Foster Brooks and George Carlin. Absolutely every time I go drive through a drive thru window at the bank I think of Carlin asking why do they have Braille on the numbers pad at a drive thru. Seems like a fair question to me. Another old comedian that could come at you with one after another was the old "I never get any respect guy Rodney Dangerfield.

Don't forget Rodney. He might get "no respect" but he was funny as hell.
