Hi, I have been busy on another project and away from my rig for a while, and was going to "my" old forum, and found it not working now. I just stumbled over Trike Talk and it looked like a worthy replacement! I'm 64 and headed toward retiring in July 20202. My rig is an old 1983 GL1100 Interstate with a Hitchhiker sidecar. I've had it for a little over a year and am still trying to get it in good working order. I bought it from a guy in Poplar Bluff, Missouri for $2000.00, with 49,000 miles on it. He was 73 and had wrecked his Harley two wheeler and broke his collarbone, 7 ribs and messed up two vertebrae.

He had a nice Harley trike on the porch waiting on his recovery. My bike had no brakes, but cranked and ran. It needs the carbs cleaned or a VW conversion; I'm still riding it as is for now. I rebuilt the brake calipers and removed the fairing and added a round headlight. It has the Unit Fork type front end and is a sort of rat bike. Its black and I just had the seat recovered. It scared the heck out of when we first tried riding it, and with a VW steering stabilizer added, became much easier to live with. I'll try to post a picture so you won't think I'm lying. I just sold my 2001 Harley, but have a 1988 FLHTC to get back together for a second bike. That's enough for now, don't want to wear out my welcome.

I'm sorry I don't have a recent photo, I'll get some soon. I just rigged up some Sportster mufflers on it as my old exhaust was rotted out. As soon as I mount some support straps to the frame, I'll remount the car and take some pictures. The old fairing rattled and was cracked in the mounting area, so we went Naked!
