Hi, I'm Dania. I don't have a trike or bike but if I could get 1 it would be a Harley. I don't have the best balance which is why I'm thinking trike.

I've only been on a bike maybe once or twice when I was maybe 5 or 6 at the time and didn't like it. I was a timid kid but have gotten a bit braver as I got older. My dad had a Harley of some type and tried to take me for rides.

I'm always curious to learn more and hear other people's stories. 1 question stopping is do you need to have a motorcycle license for a trike or is there away to learn on the trike only?

Dania Welcome to Trike Talk 👍👍..Most States require motorcycle license but there are some states where you can get a three wheel license check with your states motor vehicle department …

Hi Danielle, :welcome:to Trike Talk

You will need to check your DMV to answer the question on licensing

States may vary from what I can tell you, Here in Florida a license can say Motorcycle, or Motorcycle also

You will need to take an approved Motorcycle Safety program, passing it will give you the credit you need to get your motorcycle endorsement

Hello Dania

Arizona has a trike endorsement so check with your DMV. A motorcycle safety course for trikes would be a must. Your local Harley Dealer should have a relationship with a school that can get you the training you need.

I also have balance issues and love my trike. Check out the trike travel section to see some of the riding options out there. Hope you can get in the wind soon.

Hi Dania,

Welcome to Trike Talk. First you need to take a riding course to learn to operate it. In some states you need a permit to take the course. Once you've obtained the license, I'd suggest renting one from Eaglerider or a local HD Dealer or another party and seeing if it's really what you want. I'm a HD guy so I can't speak on other brands but there are others - Honda GoldWing and Can Am. If I'd never ridden, I'd try them all, if possible. Big investment, but worth it if you ride!
