Hello Peeps,

Was recently reminded of this forum by a fellow forum surfer that I corresponded with on another, I thought I had signed up here .... and I see I did .... in 2010. Looking at my post history, I didn't see an introduction post .... so here I am.

As to "why so long an absence?" ..... I can't make excuses, just so many forums. 6 different Fords, a Subaru, two Gold Wings and a Triumph .... and a Wheelhorse .... all different and at least 30 forums time you count photography, shooting, home improvement, etc .... but I've moved this one up in the que so maybe I can get by more often ..... maybe I learn something, solve a problem I'm having ..... maybe I can even help someone else?

Of the Gold Wings, one is a 1997 GL1500SE / '98 Lehman GTL Trike, Candy Spectra Red. We've had it since 2004 but the prior owners were bulders and this was their first ever GL and they were dear friends so we've known the bike since she was a new bouncing baby 2 wheeler.

Later ............ ;)

Howdy from the Texas Hill Country. Have family in the Shenandoah Valley... #1 daughter with her hubby and my 3 grandkids... They live in Winchester. Great area of the country and I look forward to riding there as soon as the missus fully retires and we can get away for as long as we want! wg

Thanks ALL!
HaHa!

Love Texas .... born San Antonio, lived Del Rio in early years .... no family there now but many memories and enjoy the visits back there.
I also love the Shenandoah Valley end to end .... like I-81 simply because it keeps the traffic off "my roads" ..... Rt 11 and 340, etc. It runs from Buchanan north .... I'm in lower half near Raphine but our GWRRA chapter is Harrisonburg and we spend a lot of time wearing out tires up the valley.

Watch out for "Patricia" ..... she looks like she could be mean!

Hard to believe ...... just now found where the "like this post" button was ......

We owned a time share in Harrisonburg for over 15 years. Used to go there every Thanksgiving but as the grandkids are now older and in school, it became difficult and the maintenance fees got to bee to much to justify owning. We now just go stay with my kiddo in Winchester or the one in Mt. Airy MD.

When in Winchester, I was never able to find a place that rented bikes... disappointing and I wouldn't want to leave one sit for the times we visit.

Massanutten ?

I made some mods to my utility trailer to allow me to haul our trike (would use some cling wrap on frontal surfaces of trike) so we can drag it behind the F-150 or even the Merc if we desire. Haven't done so yet, but if I were going to visit out west with friends for any length of time or down in Ga. with inlaws ..... it'd be nice to have it.

Nope ..... no bike rentals I know of.
