:)My name is Bobby and I have a 2006 GL1800 that I traded my Harley for in January 16. I have already put more than 4000 miles on it this year. I have really have enjoyed it this summer along with my wife. I want to trike it myself before spring and the information on this site has already helped me a lot. I'm leaning toward Motor Trike because of its shorter wheelbase since I do most of my riding in the twisters. I'm open to suggestions also. Bobby

Welcome to Trike-Talk.....ThumbUp
Can't help you with suggestions' But I'm sure someone will help you with good suggestions and info....

I had a Motortrike kit on my 1500 GW,it was a lot quicker than the Hannigan kit I have on my Venture. That being said it was not nearly as smooth as the Hannigan, but it was also older. I do believe that the shorter wheelbase makes it quicker,so it comes down to what you are looking for! The solid axle versus the independent suspension also makes a difference. If you do a lot of twisties the MT could be a good choice. Good luck with your decision!

Welcome to Trike Talk from sunny San Diego, Ca. Grew up not far from you in Tazewell, Va. Joined the Navy and left the area in 1964 and only been back for visits since.

Welcome from eastern Kentucky, I have two Goldwing trikes one is 1800 with roadsmith independent rear suspension and a 1500 with motortrike solid rear axle. I ride pretty much the same roads as you and the motortrike will out perform the roadsmith in the twisties. The roadsmith has a lot of roll in the curves which makes you push hard on your outside foot to stay upright in the seat and at the end of the day you are tired. But if you are touring the open road its a Cadillac. The motortrike is a lot stiffer but takes curves like on a rail. That's just my opinion of the two so its just up to each rider as to what your preference is. I love them both. Good luck. and welcome aboard.

Welcome to TT Bobby and greetings from Long Island.
I've actually flown into your town a couple times, on business. Been over a decade since though. The town so nice, VA stole the name for their own use.

Got er Done!

20161212_164637 (1).jpgI had my Motor Trike kit installed by my friend Jim Bostic at Beckley Trike Sales. We had some riding weather until it got home and then it went to 30 degrees and stayed there and below until yesterday. I finally got my first ride in and learned it's quite different from a 2 wheeler. The more I rode the better I liked it and didn't want to quit. Now I can't wait until warm weather again to ride more.ThumbUp Bobby

It's just going to get better the more you ride.

Welcome from North Ga. :wave4:

Looks good. The more you ride it the more you will like it. I will be in WV, Logan area, this spring. I will let you know and maybe we can get with Scott, who lives in Ashland, KY and ride a few miles. Jim

Thanks Guys & Gals

I have learned a lot before I had the bike triked and learn more every time I'm on here. I would like to ride with anyone who can get to this area. We are blessed with some great riding areas and beautiful country here so if you are going to be in the area please let me know and we will get together for some rides. BobbyThumbUp
