Hi all,

Nice site. Timely find for me. I'm considering buying my first trike.

I am leaning to Goldwing but did a search asking for comparison of Harley and Goldwing and it brought me here.

I want a comfortable ride so my wife will be happy with it and will go with me. So, I'm looking for a hannigan trike conversion with longer wheel base, independent suspension and a raked front end.

I was shocked at how much one can spend on the conversions and prices of trikes. Sticker shock for sure.

I'm actually selling my excavator so I can afford a nice trike. LOL crazy huh?

Greg,

From one Buckeye to another, welcome! You will soon find this place is better than other similar sites. It’s full of good info from others who have “been there done that”. You’ll also find respect for others with humor, teasing and good natured fun👍🏻

Not crazy at all. Your wife will look so pretty all dressed up in motorcycle gear sitting like a queen on the back seat of your trike. I suggest you take her along on each test ride before you buy to be sure she is totally comfortable. Your life will be so wonderful until she decides to ride it and makes you sit on the back, but if you buy the right trike you will be OK back there.

Welcome from a fellow Ohioan. Hanningan, Roadsmith, CSC ...... they're all good in their own right. Like other have said, ride as many as you can to see what 'fits' you best. Good Luck in your search!

Thank You all for all the Welcome posts. Makes a guy feel right at home. :D

I also have a tractor and run a tractor forum. One of the favorite sayings when someone is trying to decide on a tractor is sit in as many seats as possible. Operate the tractors and see which feels best to you. We are all different shapes and sizes and ergonomics sure impacts how much time you can spend in the seat.

Same for trikes. I had no idea you could rent a Harley trike. I learned that right here on this forum. Now I'm wondering if I can also rent a Honda Goldwing? That would sure help my shopping experience.

The only other option I can see is to try out ones you are thinking of buying. But how long will they let you try it. Can you do a decent test ride? All tips in this area appreciated.
