Good day folks,

Long time motorcycle enthusiasts here. Started on mini bikes back in the mid sixties. Some years back we had moved from Georgia to east coast Florida and I sold my two wheeler bike due to flat straight Road boredom. A few years later in 2010 getting the itch I ended up buying a 2001 Vulcan drifter 1500 w sidecar as a second car (I was remote working). It was a super crazy deal with only 900 miles on it. Wife likes it but so do my dogs!

Fast forward to 2021 I decided to get back on two wheels and purchased a 2014 Honda F6b yellow. Probably the best two wheeler bike I have ever owned hands down. Problem is could never get comfortable on two wheels after being away so long. Mid sixties and the wife refusing to ride two wheels has me here looking for clues on a trike. My limited research so far has me leaning towards Goldwing/Roadsmith trike.

My guess is I’m not much different than most of the folks here who has transitioned to trike! Glad to be here.

oh. . My pups in sidecar over the years.

That is a great looking hack rig. I have owned multiple Vulcans and am a member of the Vulcan Riders and Owners Club (VROC). The club is fading due to member age and Vulcan cruisers falling off the charts in sales. A Goldwing is a good choice for a conversion. There are a number of fine companies and I strongly suggest independent rear suspension for passenger comfort. I currently have a Roadsmith conversion. I bought a GL1500 Roadsmith conversion from KD Cycle in Altoona Alabama. The owner is Kevin Dodd and he is a great guy. They sell good stuff. If I were to buy another conversion, I would consider this site's owner who also is a fabulous converter and he seems to be the go-to guy for California Side Car conversions. Hannigan in Kentucky also has a great reputation. If you have a bike converted, you might want to look into a rake kit and auxiliary fuel tank. Extended miles in a trike which doesn't get as good fuel economy with the aux tank is a plus.
