Hello from Hershey , PA and Cave Creek, AZ

I am looking to buy a HD Trike and am leaning toward a Freewheeler, although my HD sales manager is also looking for a used one for me and my only requirements are condition and the HD nameplate.

I have owned a number of HD bikes and now have a '10 Electra Glide custom here in PA and an '08 Herritage Softail in AZ.

A big deciding factor for me is whether I can get a comfortable seat that sets me back a coule of inches. I have Mustang wide vintage set at on both of my bikes now.

I have been doing some research but ave been unable to get any firm answers and that is how I found this forum. Lots of good info here.

I ride solo so was also looking to see whether any other HD model solo seats would fit either the Freewheeler or
Triglide. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking forward to spending some time here.

Welcome aboard,Doc. I'm sure you will see more responses once some of these old geezers wake up from their nap.
Quite a bit of a difference between a Tri Glide and a Freewheeler but you know that already. Finding a suitable seat for either trike shouldn't be a huge problem unless you are a huge man but even then, nothing is impossible.

How tall are you and how much do you weigh?

6'1" and 250 with 32" inseam.. As I said I have the Mustang Vintage wide on both the Classic and the Heritage (and before that on my Street Bob with extended controls).

When I sat on the Freewheeler my tailbone was against the rear part of the seat and I could sit partially on the back of the seat to be comfortable. I actually prefer a solo seat with just a passenger pilon behind me. I ride solo as my wife has no interest in bikes.

This year is the 53rd year that I have been riding although when my kids were young I gave it up. The comfort factor is way up there for me and I am used to having a little room behind me. Habits die hard.

Careful! I'm getting up there and just woke up from the nap I took when I finished my afternoon ride...

Cigarman, I was just at a motorcycle police officer rodeo this past weekend and saw a bunch of Road Kings with the cop solo seats. You might want to investigate if one of those would fit on a Freewheeler. I would think that they might provide a lot of comfort? You could also get some floorboard extensions that might help stretch you out a bit.

Since I'm 6'5", the Harley seats were too low and put me on the tank. Corbin makes a seat for the FW and they made some changes for me to put me higher and further back. No extra charge for the changes and excellent customer service. Been riding on the new seat about three weeks and I LOVE IT! Contact Janice in customer service (janice @corbin.com)

Welcome.... From Jersey..... ThumbUp..

I see your from Hersey, I ate a Chocolate Bar there one time....

But getting back to seats...For the price Harley has a seat to fit any one...

welcome aboard. great place to visit and York is just down the street. HD dealers now have a demo seat for also most all their seats. Might see if they will let you demo with the different seats.

Welcome to the forums from Florida, definitely the way to go is to try out the different H-D seats from the dealer, good luck in your quest.
