I am a new member to the site, and a new rider.

I have my eye on a 1998 Honda Goldwing trike with 41K miles, with Motor Trike kit. I am also looking at a 2007 Honda Goldwing trike with 25K miles. Is it worth it to pay $8,000 more for a 2007 vice getting a 1998. The 1998 seems to be pretty old....even tho it is in excellent condition!

Thanks
Cant really tell you what to do, but I,d probably go with the newer one. Welcome to Trike Talk and whatever you decide ride safe. :wave4:

Others may disagree, but here's my best shot. Personally, I think it is mainly a budget and/or investment consideration. I recently opted to put a 2012 MT kit on my '95 Wing (48k miles) as I knew the bike to be mechanically sound and it didn't "kill" my budget as much as a newer setup would. The 1500 has plenty of power for me (heck, my wife's 1200 is OK, too).

On the other hand, "newer is nicer". Also, what brand trike kit is on the 1800 and does it suit your requirements. Tough choice, if $$ is not a consideration, maybe go with he newer.

Either way, in the future, if you want to sell or upgrade, you'll probably get all (or most) of you investment back. Just my 2 cents worth...

welcome aboard. also another consideration is the rider layout. the 1500 in my opinion has a little more room to stretch out.

Welcome to the group. First I am new also, bike is waiting for fenders to get painted, then I will start riding, but I would test ride both and see it that settles it for you. Either way welcome.

The first question is have you ever riden a trike before? If you have and you know you both will like a trike and you have the $$$ I would look at the newer trike. I had a 95 Goldwing when I started mainly because I wasn't sure we would like riding since my wife had never riden before. The 1500 is a very comfrontable bike and I loved it as well my wife did also. After riding the trike a couple of years I wanted to get something newer and thats when I went to my Stallion. Hope you get one and get some good riding in. Ride safe and enjoy.
