I too installed the CB on my 21. When we travel with the group, we use it. A number of folks are going to Cardo - and I already have a backup set pf helmets with Cardo. As die hard a CB user as I was I installed it on my 21 and have barely touched it. I am thinking of going Bluetooth but not now. I am curious as to if all the components are installable on the 24, I don’t see why not.
Thanks - I have found that using this for my maps is very useful.I don’t use either yet
Yes, I installed on my 2024 TG. The CB system I purchased is p/n 76000486A but the part you mentioned (76000188) is I think just the CB module. The part I got includes the module and the mounting bracket. The CB system for the Rushmore bikes has been discontinued and no longer available from H-D so I fully expect that the wiring for the antenna in the tour-pack will soon be eliminated. That was the first thing I checked before I purchased the 2024 and yes all the wiring is in place. Just need the set screw for the antenna and the antenna itself. Dealer must flash the BoomBox for the CB to work. Can it be flashed? Have the 76000188 module and 71500130C r/h switch.
While you might be technically challenged, I know you are indeed mechanically inclined.I’m interested in that. I’m technically challenged…lol
CB works fine with CarPlay active. I listen to Pandora and sometimes an incoming transmission will cause playback to pause. Not always just sometimes. Other than that no issues.I too installed the CB on my 21. When we travel with the group, we use it. A number of folks are going to Cardo - and I already have a backup set pf helmets with Cardo.
Notgrownup - do you use carplay or AA? Not meaning to alter this thread, if you are using one of these, when connected to AA or carplay and you hit the transmit button on your CB, do it disconnect?
Thanks - I posted a concern earlier. When I have my maps up (google maps) and the CB is on, I can hear all of the transmissions without any problems.CB works fine with CarPlay active. I use a wireless adapter but no issues before when plugged in except sometimes pausing music. Does not disconnect music or Apple Maps if I’m using either or both of them. Thanks - I posted a concern earlier. However, when I key the mic to transmit, google maps disconnect and it has to reconnect.
To add to that, when I actually key the map, all works well. It does not disconnect until I actually say something into the mic.
By the way, for carplay, is your phone just plugged into the cubby or are you wireless?
Thanks - I sometime use a wireless adapter too. Before going wireless, I ran a cable from my cubby to my tour pack - and put the phone in there.I use a wireless adapter but no issues before when plugged in except sometimes pausing music. Tried it with Apple Maps and worked fine - did not cut off. Got Google maps from the app store and tried it with same result - did not cut off. So no idea what is causing your problem but sure hope you can narrow it down and find a solution. Thanks - I sometime use a wireless adapter too. Can I ask you to try something for me. Connect your phone and run your apple maps. Once you have your maps up, turn the CB on.
With the CB on, key the mic and speak into your headset. Let me know if the maps cutoff. Mine does and they have to reconnect.
I have been talking to Harley about this. Not a lot of folks use their CB with google maps so, they have not heard of this issue before.
It is interesting because, as long as I don't key the cb and talk into the mic, there is not an issue.
Thanks
