Being a Harley owner for many years I was turning 3 shades of red...the '57 pan head red...the '66 e-glide red...and the '82 shriner red. But also being a Buell owner I could not stop laughing. I found the fun in that ad!
:Agree: I notice the changes in the quality of the parts they are using to build them with. Seems like as time goes buy the quality of parts starts slipping. A good for instance is the front wheel bearings on the touing line including the trike. The bearings are not the same design as pre 08's, it shows because there are quite a few people with front wheel bearings being replaced at relatively low mileages. One guy I saw needed his front bearings replaced and HD wouldn't replace them, said the guy road in the rain to much which damaged the bearings.
To date my dad has had 3 start buttons replaced, front wheel bearings replaced, rear O2 sensor replaced and the oil filter adapter for the oil cooler replaced. All this within 27,000 miles.
Mine hasn't been quite as bad, I've had 1 start button replaced in 17,000 miles.
Great ad ! It was a brave man who signed off on that. I've owned more bikes than I care to count, out of those there were 5 Harleys. All were great for different reasons. I believe that the best bike is the one that does what you want it to do. Not a brand.
