Harley trike maintenance

*I have a 09 harley triglide. I would like to know what maintenance *is required on the rear axle and brakes

Thank you

The best money you can spend is on the service manual, especially if you are going to do your own service. There isn't much on the rear axle to tend to, just check the lash of the cush drive and drive belt tension. The rear breaks need checked for thickness and replaced as needed. IMO the parking break is best left alone, adjusting it pretty much guarantees you'll need rear break pads sooner.

Just for general information I have had the rear brake pads replaced by the dealer at around 20,000 miles, wait much longer and I would have damage to the rotors. I am on my 6th set of rear brake pads. I am sure this will very depending on the individual riding style.

Brake pads

What are you replacing your pads with stock pads or after market pads. I am now needing to install back brake pads. What are the best ones out there.
Thanks Big Red

EBC Gold Pads work very well for me but again, I tend to use my front brakes alittle more. I have a 2010 Triglide.
