I ordered some touch up paint for my TG. Salesman said it was $36.50. After catching my breath, I asked if that was for both colors or if it was real GOLD metal flake. He said no just the main color and a bottle of clear coat. Didn't sound right, but ordered anyway.
Picked it up yesterday and there was a bottle of the main color and a bottle of another color not even close to my secondary color and not even a clear coat.

Does anyone know how touch up paint is sold/ordered? Common sense would say (for that price) a bottle of each of the two-tone colors.

My color is Mysterious Sunglo Red and Merlot - what I got was Mysterious Sunglo Red and Silver Pearl.

I told them I wanted the Mysterious Sunglo Red - nothing more.
Still $36 is a lot for a little bottle of paint. Touch up paint for a car is one fourth of that - - and a bigger bottle.

I had to order the 2010 Anniversary 3 pack, came with black, bronze, and clear coat.
Price was about $56.
Maybe the dealer did not look up and order the correct paint kit (3 pack).
I know my color is different but a note that may help when you get the correct kit.
The kit has three finger nail polish like bottles, each has cap with brush. Cover as small of an area as you can get away to just seal damaged area. Don't go too fare out from the scratch, damage sides. The smaller the area, the easier to blend in. I learned after the 3 time cleaning it off and starting over.
Bronze paint match was not perfect when first applied, but as I then applied the clear coat and worked it in with the brush, it blended much better. I then buffed it out with Wizard polish after it cured for a week. Near perfection. My point is you may have the correct paint, but it takes a bit of trial to get blended in.

HD is out of control with some of the pricing. Go to EBAY and Amazon and look under Harley parts touch up paint. You'll find 1/2 oz single or 3-pak at lower costs. You may have to look but some have free shipping with reasonable priced paint.pepper

Around $56 was what I was quoted for the Antique Bronze kit. Only have a pencil lead sized spot where only I will see. I said I would wait until I had more chips.

Go to Touch up Direct.I purchased Crimson Red Sunglow to spray the top of my trunk. The match is 99%,base,candy, clearcoat. You can call them direct, under 60$

I did find some other places out there on the internet that appeared to be selling HD paint touch up. When I went to order, I was informed they had been given a notice from HD they could not sell the paint. One of the sites led me to pickup the paint locally, and was only 45 minutes from my house, he runs a custom shop and can get HD paint for his business. He could only use HD paint in his shop, and could not sell it separately. HD had warned him if caught selling paint going out the door, they would no longer allow him to purchase any paint from them or supply base for his bushiness. They also control the market on seat fabric. I wanted a patch of brown for my HD back rest. Called every one, no one could sell, then called HD customer support. They would not help. So much for trying to match the backrest to the seat :gah:

That's what they tell me. Although in my case I think it's overkill. I mean what difference is it going to make on a small chip(1/16" dia) or a small thin scratch? there wouldn't be enough area for even 1 metal flake. I just don't see how the base coat will do any good on very small dings.
Oh well, I've learned my lesson. Now I have to see if I can recoup some money - anyone want to buy it for $25 and free shipping.

I know my paint is over 300 bucks a quart.. and needs base with clear to match..

You probably have the base coat and the color coat.

That is correct. I got the same thing with my touchups for Merlot/Red Sunglow for my 2012 trike. The clear is not clear it has a tint to it.

BTW, HD not as bad as Victory. I ordered touchup for my Victory and got TWO bottles of the same color paint and no clear. When I complained and said I didn't want TWO colors and no clear, I wanted one color and one clear. The parts woman said that is how it comes. Color is too thin and I have no idea what I do to get the clearcoat. It is a regular yellow, no pearl or metalflake. $25 a few years ago.

Yeah, the seat thing. I have the two tone seat on my 110. I sure would like to put a matching rider backrest on it. Neither the backrest or fabric is available from HD. Checked upholstery shops, it also was a no-go. I was hoping maybe they would add the back rest to their accessory catalog this year: Nope.

I was told by Harley Davidson Customer support, they will not provide back rest for the Anniversary Edition. I asked who could help me get the material, I would take my backrest to a specialty shop to have made. They told me they would not offer any help. Since that I have been looking for a take off Anniversary seat so I could get the material from it. No luck so far. I know some who have Anniversary take off seats, but will not give them up at any cost. I guess I wouldn't either for that day when you want to get it back to original condition.

Isn't there any upholstery shop that can get something real close to what you have? Or does it have to be exact? How about one that works with Orange County Choppers, Jessie James, Chip Foose or any of those other auto/bike restore TV shows? They seem to be able to do or get ANYTHING. :D
Try contacting them. GOOD LUCK
