Well make sure to keep us informed on the birth of ur trike. Get pictures if U can and post them. Someone is going to have to come up with a birth announcment for trikes seems as they are getting to be very popular.
Make sure U read some of the threads they will help u.
Best of luck.

Big congratulations, Tonyd! I can relate, as I recently took delivery of my own trike, which was built by Bazooka, whose shop is about 150 miles away from where I live. The waiting is a little harder when you can't just run over there and check on your baby every day or so. But this, too, shall pass!

Try to get the builder to take some pix of your trike in progress--we love to see pictures!

OH boy another expecting proad owner. Good Choice Tonyd. Only have read good things about that conversion. PICTURES of the new arrival. Ted

Tony, she is a beautiful baby trike!!!!!! You must be drooling all over yourself to see her this close to done! I hope your first day with her is warm and sunny, but I know you'll be lovin' her no matter what the weather is! Congratulations .

tis,

Just saw the pix and you have every right to be happy. That's one fine looking machine.

As they would say back in WV, "Boy...You done yourself proud!".

Man, Tony, those Hannigans are cool! If I was doing another kit I'd probably go with the Hannigan. I was down at their shop a year ago last fall helping a friend do an install on a Honda Wing. I wandered over to the Harley area several times checking out the install they were doing. I sure like their Harley stuff. I owned an 04 Wing/Hannigan until I built the CSC/Harley in 07. It sure was a great trike, we put 40k on it in 3 1/2 years.

Good luck! My '09 Ultra has been there (Hannigan's) for two months. I was told to it would take a month! I can't get any answers for the delays, and they won't keep me posted on the progress. I'm fed up, and ready to call in the attorneys. Apparently they have lied to their local vendor "Coach Rice" but who do you believe? I'll keep everyone posted.

Was wondering since Harley made so many changes on the '09, with the swingarm and other things. Would the Trike mfgs. have to change there support design? Does anyone have any input on this.

I believe that is the case. I was told last week that the jig had to be redone. What bugs me is that I was told it would be done on the 3rd of April, then when that date passed I was told the 10th, then the 17th....now it's May 1st. Hannigan had talked to Harley before we shipped the bike to them so they new it was a new/modified setup. This is apparently the first '09 Harley they have done. I don't understand the poor communications, and failure to keep me up to date.

Stay Clam ( I know it is hard ) You don't want to tick off your installer and have a bad install. I would talk with him very civilized and ask him to be honest with you . Why is this happening? Should I not go with this kit?

Is Hannigan doing it or one of their dealers ...I had mine done by G & D Trikes in Tremont IL...IM very satisfied with the job .. took them about 15 days .. picked it up 5 days after it was done ...bad weather....hang in there its a great kit.
Tony

Spector: who have you been talking to @ Hannigan? Person you should try talking to is Jim, he's in charge of the Trike Installs, don't get stuck talking to one of the sales guys, they really don't know whats going on in the shop. It's a real nice kit. Too bad your having to go through the wait, but the main thing is that it's being done right......

I WOULD GO DOWN THERE PULL IT OUT OF THERE & GET A DIFFERENT KIT. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOUR THERE FIRST 2009. THERE IS ALMOST NOTHING THE SAME ON A 2008 & 2009 THE FRAME , SWING ARM, ALL THE FENDER MOUNTS, THE SEAT, WIRING IS ALL DIFFERENT. I WOULDNT WANT TO HAVE THE FIRST ONE, IF THEY DON'T HAVE A JIG MADE UP YET HOW MUCH TESTING HAVE THEY DONE TO SEE WHAT THE RELIABILTY WILL BE , THE HANDLING . THERES A LOT OF OTHER KITS OUT THERE THAT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON 2009 FOR 8 - 9 MONTHS NOW . :confused:JUST A THOUGHT

You gotta think about this, the 09's were probably available last August. I'm sure these Trike Mfg. were aware of the changes and should have all the jigs and different set-ups available by now. Possibly there's another reason and someone just used that as a excuse. Hopefully Zook or someone that is Privvy to some of this info could chime in. I'm sure the Mfg. is doing whatever they can for your best interest.Only thing we can do for you is offer you a kind word and try to assure you that everything will work out fine...

Well, I appreciate the support, I have felt like each of you expressed at different times during this conversion. It is being done at Hannigan's. Originaly it was to be done at Coach Rice's Trikes who is Hannigans rep here locally. At the last hour Coach Rice called and said they would like to ship it to Kentucky, and it would take about a month because this was the first 09 Harley they had done. Unfortunately I said OK. Well the last word I got from them was over a week ago and they promised to have it back here to me by the 1st of May (2 months). Sigh...they also promised to keep me posted every couple of days. I can only hope that it's poor customer relations and not a looming black legal cloud on the horizon.

Sounds like your bike is the test bed for the new modifications. Not always a bad thing. My DFT is one of the test ones.

I feel your pain, it took my dealer exactly two months to install my Hannigan Kit and I too was getting very impaitent with them since they told me it would on be two to four weeks. When I saw it for the first time I completely forgot about how long it took. The paint was flawless and everything was perfect. Some time good thing just take longer. Hang in there, it will be over soon.:)

In the long run it's probably a blessing in disguise that it's being Triked by Hannigan. When you get it back you'll be smiling ear to ear. Hang tough the waits almost over..........
