Hannigan Parking Brake Photos

Just received mine ( brake kit ) about 10 minutes ago. Not a frigging idea on how to install it and it came with absolutely zero instructions or photos. This should be interesting....lol

In Canada ( specifically Ontario ) you do not need to have a parking brake on "your" trike if it was built and registered without one. The problem arrises if you try to sell or trade it. In order to pass a mandatory safely check it must have a working parking brake seperate from the existing and primary brake system. The " holdability" of the brake is subject to testing. Dealers don't want trikes if they have no parking brake and any potential customer who wants the bike safetied for vehicle registration purposes is going to insist on it. Trike is useless to them otherwise.

I checked with the Ministry of Transport Ontario office and no, there is no such thing as "grandfathered because built before legislation was passed". Apparently Newfoundland was the last province to require a parking brake but it is now coast to coast.
