Grounding the CB after triking

Tried the CB a couple of weeks ago for the first time since Triking.
Could only hear the slightest whisper at less than 100 yards.
With the volume cranked all the way up

Inter-com is loud and clear.

Apparently need to check the antenna ground.
How do I visually check it and what do I need to do.

Nancy fractured her hip on the Th so I have some time to tinker.
install MBL risers
DDM HIDs
TIR 3 stop lights
Maybe TIR 3 ambers for turn signals

You might want to check out some people are having issues with the DDM HIDS and their CB. Supposedly having to run the squelch nigher because of the some incompatibility between the 2.

Haven't installed any parts

These are parts I have and haven't installed due to back surgery

Have not touched any electronics since Hannigan installed

I ran a separate ground wire from the antenna ground strap in the trunk to a frame bolt. I had low volume and couldn't transmit, problem seems to be solved.

I had a similar problem after my CSC Viper kit was installed. The ground they put in looked very good, but my CB (gl2way) was getting errors and cutting off when I pushed the PTT button. Pete at GL2WAY walked me through it with several emails over several days until we got it working. On my 2012 I rerouted the antenna cable to be completely within the trunk but Pete thinks the things that fixed it were connecting the CB ground back to the CB mount (the installer had attached it to the major ground at the antenna) and wrapping the CB in foil. By doing those I have not had any problems or errors for the past 2 months, but I have not used the CB except for testing it with someone in the house.

Be sure the CB antenna is on the left side which has built in ground strap. A friend's antenna had been mounted on the right side and I happen to notice while we were discussing his low volume. Switching the antenna to the left side cured the problem.
