Greetings, new forum member interested in your responses to my intended TG

So the CVO trike could be a "one off deal" for this year,now that would be interesting. It may be a possibility that the value may be held at a constant instead of the normal depreciation.

Tomorrow I am going back to the dealer to ask some more questions, then I will make my decision between 2 model year HD TG's.

You never know on the CVO thing. 2020 is the first year they did a CVO trike. They could do it again next year and then they couldn't. We just won't know until August when the 2021's are announced. I do know that over the years a CVO bike may be introduced and with the next model year it's gone.

As far as value / depreciation, not being a CVO guy I don't know. Perhaps others could chime in. Unlike the crazy days of the 80's thru the early 2000's the rule of thumb now on non-CVO Harley's is don't get them with the idea of making money on 'em come sale time.

Jon, I’ve had my 18 Tri glide for 2 years now, before we bought it my wife had a 16 heritage softail and I had a 16 ultra limited, after some friends of ours bought trikes I told my wife maybe we should look. Went to the dealer and test drove a 18 115th anniversary Tri glide and decided to buy it, took both 2 wheelers and traded them in and brought the trike home, have no interest in going back to 2 wheels, I’ll ride a trike for as long as I can. Good luck at the dealer tomorrow, they wanted to charge me above list and I told them I wasn’t doing that and we settled a little below, but they did try to stick it to me.

Sure appreciate the advice and I will uphold the support of the forum members and "stand my ground".

For obvious reasons I have been careful what I have posted here relating to the price and dealer "numbers".

So far I seem to be on a level playing field and that's the way I would like to keep it.

Perhaps I am lucky (or not) but I do have some knowledge of sales as I had to take a sales job for a while when I was let go several years ago.

My impression is that the dealer knows I will not be pushed around and I can always walk away.

For example; Yesterday I got a phone call from one of the sales people advising me that the General Manager wanted me to know that I couldn't place a deposit on the CVO trike. My answer to that was "it will be there tomorrow, so I will take my chance" ha!

We shall see and I am optimistic of a good result in the morning.

So, the deed is done.

I am proud to announce the ownership of a 2020 Tahitian Teal TG Ultra.

As you have probably read, my interest was in a 2020 CVO TG (white) but the 2020 Tahitian Teal TG Ultra was hard to pass up on due to the color.

Some of you had written "make it your own" and that is what I have done:

1) Heated seats and grips

2) Adjustable levers

3) Light inside tour pack lid

4) Highway pegs

5) Folding back rest

6) Rear frame height adjusting kit

7) Front painted inner fairing near the instruments

8) Clear paint protection around wheel trims etc

9) TPMS

Dealer is going to order the parts and I am going to get a riders trike course.

Very happy and blessed.

Tried to upload a picture but it didn't display perhaps it was too big.

The color is even better under sunlight kelvin temperature as the dealer had a light that mimics this color temperature and it showed the eye catching color.

I was trying to post up a picture, but I guess it is too large in bytes

Having the benefit of advice from all you peeps on the forum made my purchase all the more pleasurable.

Now I can ride rain or shine and still not worry about keeping a "hangar queen" (aviation speak for airplanes not flown much) quite like a show room floor exhibit.

Dealer and sales people were first class. The owner even swung by and said "hi" which is rare today!

The color is sharp. When my friend took a picture at the dealer, the teal turns out blue on both Apple and Samsung phones. Maybe the camera algorithm cannot figure out teal.

Get that riders course under your belt as you will be pleasantly surprised what you learn and how much it will improve your overall experience!

I rode for years; then didn't ride for years; when I started looking at bike aagain a few years ago a very good salesman suggested that I buy the one that would make me stop and look back at it each time I stated to walk away. That was good advice; sounds ike you did just that!

Congratulations!!! Now ride the wheels off that new ride, ride at your own comfort level. I had no courses available to me just great advice from members of this forum. A little common sense will go a long way take good care of the wheels they will get crappy fast if not kept clean and brake dust cleaned off I use windshield washer fluid (not Windshield cleaner no ammonia!) and good wheel polish. :good: Travel safe Fred

jonfjr: Great Call on the Tahitian Teal over the CVO. As you know by now, there are lots of opinions out here in the wilds about the CVO trikes. My first HD, after 40 years of other bikes, was a Tri. I wish I would have known enough when I bought it to give it a thorough once over and have the dealer do some more setups like adjusting the angle of the clutch and brake levers, the handle bars angle etc... Lucky for me I like wrenching and I can do my own as I ride and get comfy with it. Have fun with your new motor!!!

P.S. One of the most beautiful rides I've ever been on is Snoqualmie Pass. The wettest ride I've ever been on is Olympia up 101 to Port Townsend. I never knew it could rain so hard. I rode that with my brother and loved every inch of it.

Cool aviation back ground you had and I wished I was an A&P

I flew B737 all series and NG but no MAX/747-400&-8/757,200 300/767,300/DC-9-15&32/MD-11, to name but a few. Still instruct on 757.

It is much better looking in person.

We had the trike outside the dealer yesterday and I rode it around the lot

Of course I was a little confused as I was presented with a 90 degree right turn, then I remembered to look, turn the bars and roll throttle, bingo and no crash.:laugh:

It will take me some parking lot time and the trike course (required here in WA State) before my training wheels are removed for take off on the open roads, cant wait

It is pouring down here at the moment. Rode the bike I was trading yesterday and it was really wet and windy but I ride year round.

I remember one day the Sun came out.....And all of sudden Mt. Rainier appeared out of the fog and clouds like a giant snowcapped sentinel' The locals never seeing the Sun before ran to Church to Pray...And the prayers worked because the next day the Sun and Mt.Rainier were gone..... :laugh:.....
