Got It Back

After a long ordeal with my recent Goldwing trike conversion my CSC trike is back in the garage! For background on what happened to me take a look at this (I hope Zook doesn't mind the link):

So after 19 days in the shop--though no fault of CSC or my installer--I'm back on the road and very happy!!! Today's ride home was about as thrilling as the day I initially picked it up--only better because I'd already put a thousand miles on the trike, lost it, and got it back again! It was a sweet reunion and my 100-mile trip home from Mason City Honda was glorious. The new front tire (Michelin Pilot Activ?) seems to have calmed the front end down at 70 mph and really felt quite good on decent pavement, although there is still some shimmy at times on rougher road conditions at high speeds. This CSC trike handles so well--it is very confidence-inspiring. It is effortless and relaxing to cruise the 2-lane and any concerns I had going to a trike have vanished. This set-up is going to make the rest of our riding days fun, relaxing, and as safe as possible. This beats the hell out of 2 wheels in so many ways. ThumbUp

Honda is not fooling around with the BRAKE recall. They do not know how to fix the problem, but most BRAKE problems are covered(even TRIKES). My secondary master cylinder let go, just after the extended warranty ran out and Honda covered it.
I also have a CSC XL. I ate up the FRONT pads on the REAR caliper in about 7000 miles.

I'm hopeful this new secondary master cylinder will solve the problem--it is a different part number than the original so there is something different about it hopefully. It appears Honda has not yet come out and declared that this part is THE final fix--I suppose that they might be trying to confirm this somehow. For now I'm left with a lot of wishful thinking. My rear calipers were rebuilt for now as new ones were not available from CSC. When the back-ordered calipers arrive in a few weeks they will replace these, which seem to be working fine for now.

How many miles do you have on the new part? When was it installed?

Replaced Aug or Sept last year(2014). I have around 20,000 miles since then. CSC also made a change and went to
HARDER pads.
