Dennis, thanks for the link. You were right their stuff is a little spendy but looks quality. Have booked for future reference.

Was as going to get some footage with the lower engine guard yesterday but have developed age related macular degeneration and got 3 injections in my right eye. Didn't feel like do'n crap. Maybe this weekend.

I still do not like that side of the bike.
I have a Cobra action cam that I bought on EBay
$79.00 camped with 3 mounts and a waterproof case. Can go under water to 10'

Playing with an added microphone. Cut hole in side of camera case for plug in and routed wire back to under seat. Wrapped microphone in some dense foam I had and put into open frame area out of the way.

A test in garage, then a short ride test. All I care to hear on the video is exhaust sound.

I am happy with placement of camera and microphone.

Great work Dennis, looks likes and sounds like a good place for the mic. What are you going to use to seal the plug were it goes through camera case?

Butch,
I am not going to worry about it to be honest. I am not going to be "under" water, or at least it is not in my plans. I have the skeleton back on it also, little thing gets warm all enclosed.
If I end up with it on in rain, I figure a little tape at plug end area to protect it a bit. At least that is my plan.
A little more adjusting on mount and I will go with it. Wish I lived in an area with real roads, as you can see in videos, not many areas without pot holes. I am pleasantly surprised how stable these are coming out given the road conditions and being mounted on a Harley.

Took TG out to Old Indiana State Road 3 South of Muncie. Little stretches of it that has allot of pot holes. Just drove through them, not trying to avoid anything to test this type mount on engine guard (K W Machine Works). Must say, good to go in my book. Others??

Like it Dennis. Like the sound.

Headed to Eureka Spgs this weekend for the rally. Hope to get some footage thru the Arkansas hills. Didn't get a chance to play with the audio aspects yet. After listening to your Indiana footage, wish I'd taken time to get it done. BUT will have it done by the time I hit the Black Hills in August.

Dennis, that is the best Video and sound I've ever seen and heard. I'd rather listen the engine than anything else. You did a great job as usual.

Thanks Jim. I am ready to try having it hooked to battery power off trike. These batteries in cameras do not last long. Also going to try a little higher on engine guard. An inch or so.

"DITTO" here.....Great Job......ThumbUp:10:

Skuuter, if and when you decide to get one, I am sure you will have some travels to show us.
Plan at this time for us is the Pacific Coast Highway in mid July. If all goes as planned.
Now to find some time to try this running off trike power.

Dennis, I run mine off a USB cable hooked to a lighter adapter plug. Constant power, no issues.

i utilize a 'skeleton' extended battery back. Am working up enough nerve to cut open another waterproof case for audio/power access. Am going to cut the audio port in the case and the power port in the lid. Trying to eliminate as much moisture access as possible.

I just got a thing that replaces the battery, clips right in like the battery cover and cord runs thru skeleton case back to power plug. (no battery in camera)
I put a power plug in lower faring to power it. Have not had a chance to try it out yet. Not real water proof, but hey, what can you do.

interesting. Never seen anything like you're describing. You have a link ?

i plug the USB into the side of the Bac-Pac battery. With the 3+ you can charge the camera battery thru the Bac-Pac battery.

Like to see your charging setup

Can not remember where I ordered it. Product web page is in picture. This is not a battery charging system, it replaces battery.
I have mic going into side. Just the mic extension. The combo cord for mic and power that goes into side seemed too bulky.
I have not had this out on road yet so test is still needed.

I have been using the free down loadable Go Pro edit software. Then uploading to Vimeo. Liked Vimeo better than utube because of 1080 playback. But it is not free.
Are any using other good editing software? Have been pricing some but terms used are a little out of my pay grade.

Thanks for the lead on the battery info. Found it at http://www.switronix.com.

I use iMovie and the GoPro software. Planning to shoot 'time sequence' stuff in Ark. and will have use GoPros software to edit it. Have been reading a lot about MS Movie Maker that I understand is bundled with Windows is very good.

Hope you have a good trip. Hopefully better than the last one. Wish I could go along but I'm working too much. Plus we are flying out to Vegas in September for a wedding. Hope you have great weather and nothing goes wrong with the bike. My wife can't get more time off than 2 wks at a time. Have fun if I don't see you before you leave!! Jim

I have edited my non Go Pro camera ,using a program called Studio 8. Problem is my friends want DVD copies. I can't get it to burn to a a DVD. It is stuck in my computer or on u tube.

Anyone can download the Go Pro edit program from the web site. It is not hard to use. I believe you can export it to burn CD.
If movie is saved to a file on your computer, you should be able to copy to cd off your computer.
With windows, right click saved movie file, in drop down menu, select your cd drive and send it there. It should then ask you how you want it saved, file or for DVD view, or something like that. I have burned a couple to view on TV.

Dennis,

Are you using the power socket on the left hand side of the fairing? If so,
do you have any problem with clearance when turning? Re: the plug sticks out too far?
thx.
Cath.

Not with the mount I am using. I have two swivel mounts on it now but even with just the mount. plug would fit into camera, but close to lower. No turning interference.
The power outlet I added is just loose inside lower and I run cord into it through the snap cover.
I think I am understanding your question.
