Let the fun, work, and ordering begin! Today, I got the news that my new Tri-Glide’s due date is January 7th! It is the chrome engine and not a blacked out version. While at the dealership, I started ordering the ‘necessities’ that I wanted installed as soon as the Tri came in.

I also wanted to make sure the parts did not get “back ordered” waiting until that time. By ordering now, the parts would hopefully be arriving with the Tri. Today, I decided to get the ‘Vivid Black’ inner fairing to improve the looks of my cockpit area. (Reckon that I can make a giant wall clock out of the old inner fairing. LOL)

As time comes and goes, I will be purchasing the extras that I want and putting them on myself. With my Street Glide, I ordered everything all at once and put it on all at once.

The fun and the work were over in a matter of days. I will now be able to stretch out the fun and work over many weeks. Necessities first as of their importance, and then the bling next. Now, I have a date and can plan things around that.

Thanks guys.

I have already contacted DK about the shock/lift kit by email. Under the assumption and for the company sake, the Harley frame/suspension will remain without any changes, so they will not have to re-engineer their lift kits. I will hopefully get word back from DK on if they will stay the same or I will have to wait for the redesign of the new kits. First of all things, is getting the trike here! LOL I will go from there, but I am going to do a lift kit. Another guy is going to put a lift kit on another guy’s trike and I want to be there and watch, so I will know what to expect.

Congrats on the new Trike!

It has taken me over 2 years to finish my aftermarket add-ons. The last two were the hardest because they required me to drill holes in the body (mud flaps & saddlebags). It felt like I was operating on a close relative!

Ordering possibly my last one today.....wait a minute....I think I said that a couple months ago

I don’t plan on taking that long getting done what I want to add, but I am not going to do the “Wham! Bam! Thank you, Ma’am!” type of attitude of getting the mods done. I will order a few and put them on, and then order some more and put them on, and so on. No rush, but I hope to have it finished before I decide to trade it for a new one and start all over! LOL

Drilling holes? Would not bother me in the least, as long as it is not mine that I am drilling holes in! LOL

DK Customs external breather kit should be at the top of the list. Other wise your just pissin away your motor.

Nope! Gotta get my music playing before anything. A fellow rider here in my local chapter built his Tri into a 131! He said that when you ‘goose it’, you had better be holding on tight, because it will jump out from under you! Him and the shop foreman said that it had its own unique sound. I can’t wait to hear it (He did say that you don’t want to follow close to him going down the road! LOL). That might be something for me to consider building ….. a “Thunder Trike”!

After all of these years, I thought my first trike was going to be a Servi-car. I found one, but it still had all of the LEO equipment on it. I think one of the originals would be neat to upgrade/update the motor, tranny, and suspension. Maybe another year …… I gotta get this one done first. LOL

Your new one will ride like that servi-car and have a little more power , I think your dream come true :D
