I found this site while researching trikes. I have a 98 GL1500 with 48,000 miles. I saw a 09 GL1800 Roadsmith trike this weekend with 5,600 miles with a lot of safety chrome and LED lighting, back and arm rest, 6 degree rake, custom chrome wheels, spoiler, rack, wind wings, CB and a worn out front tire. The dealer is selling it on consignment and wants 28,500 for it and has offered 5,500 for mine on trade which leaves 23,000. Good deal or not? All opinions are welcome.
Thanks
Steve

Welcome to Trike Talk, we are glad you found us.
Have the seller replace the front tire (worth about $200 installed) and offer him $25,500. It is 4 years old. Sell your bike yourself and you will make out much better.

Hello smilam and welcome to the website from the U.P of Michigan. Just for a reference I paid$12,500 for a 1990 Gold Wing 1500 Lehman conversation,76,000 miles. I believe your bike is worth a lot more, at least double. So selling it yourself would be the way to get the best deal. Then as Trikeleader said, have the dealer change the front tire and offer$25,500. This time of year most bikes are going into storage, if he's any kind of dealer he will take it.

My 98 GL1500 isn't a trike. It looks like trade in value is around 3500 and retail around 6800. I called and offered 25000 but since it is on consignment he has to call the owner to see if he will accept my offer. I appreciate the responses and will let you know if I ride down to Arkansas to pick it up.

Welcome to Trike Talk. If you can get a 09 for $25,500 it sounds like a GREAT deal. If you can sell your bike yourself you will get more out of it, just a hassel to deal with the trie kickers. Good luck with the search for a trike.:wave4:
