I am looking at the purchase of my first Trike.....I live in Northwestern Pa....looking at a 2001 Honda Goldwing 1800.....has 101,000 miles on it....has a new RoadMaster kit.....E-Z steer....running boards....passenger arm rests...CB....AM/FM ........new tires......no nicks, scratches....overall really good condition.....the dealer is asking $23,000......is this a good deal or bad deal ??? Am concerned about the mileage....but they tell me it's just getting broke in......what are your thoughts ??? Thanks.

I too have been 'keeping my eyes open' for a great value in a Goldwing trike. From what I've seen, for the $23k you cite I've seen later models and much less mileage (like <25k miles). My recommendation is to be patient and shop around a bit more. One major consideration that will affect your bottom line price will be whether you are comfortable with buying a trike from an individual, particularly one who might not be in your area, or do you need the warm feeling of buying from a local dealer? My advice is that if you know which end of a screwdriver to hold then shop for your best value and educate yourself enough to do basic care and diagnosis on your trike (you obviously have picked up many of the basics if you know to cite things like E-Z steer).

I wish you the best in your search.

Ouch I felt that from here! ! ! 23,000 is way over for that bike 50,000 and a 2004 might be worth that money . Example my late friend bought a 3 year old Champion GW trike with 16,000 miles on it for $21,000. I never heard of a Roadmaster . maybe a Road Smith

In this economy, I don't think that the market is any better in NW Pa than it is in many other parts of the country, and I've found waay better deals on 05', '06, and 07' trikes with 1/3 the miles.

For much less, there's a very nice 04/CSC very well equipped, right here in s. Delaware; a sweet looking 05 in Alabama; an '05 BMW/Hannigan in Mass., just to name a few.

I will concur with everyone else. Over priced. The amount of $23k will get you a newer year with a lot less miles. 101k miles is only about 1/2 the expected life on the Goldwing by most peoples opinion, but for that amount of money a better deal is available.

I bought my 2003 Goldwing 1800 Candy Apple Red with 20K miles and had LOT's of doo dads already on it. It is however a straight axle but I have no issues with that Mine has the MotorTrike spyder kit. I only paid 23K for mine. You can see my trike in my photos here.. I'll sell you mine for that price wink wink. I think with over 100K you could do much better. Just my humble opinion.
Newbe: In Oct 2009, I bought my Candy apple red 03 GL 1800, with a CSC kit with independant suspension & more bling on than I care for but with only 4100 miles for $22.5k!! But that is rare.
