Going trike

Ive been riding 2 wheels for yrs, and am looking to go trike. Ive been looking at getting goldwing trike used, and really could use some advice on what to look for ina good quality useed trike. <br />
I plan on riding with the wife, and really could use adivce on design specs ( i.e engine suspensions brakes etc) as well as reasonable milage to cost etc.

Welcome to the site from the U P of Michigan. Usually you have your own preference for the bike and look at different options each trike offer. Then your budget enters into the picture and you can buy a used trike for anywhere from 8k to 60k or higher. Once you figure out what you would like, then do a search like on eBay and any trike shops to give you a starting point, go up or down from there. The options are almost endless so expect to spend a little time but it will not only get you what you want but save you some money. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

</div>I had the same question when I was considered going to a trike; there was a couple of do's and don’ts that helped me:<br />
1) You need to find the trike you like and FITS you; don't worry what everyone one else thinks<br />
2) If you are looking for comfort, consider steering clear of solid axles. Independent suspension is more comfortable. <br />
3) If you are looking at Goldwing’s, bike/engine mileage is not as great of a concern as other bikes. Example, 65k miles on a GW is considered “Just Broke In”<br />
4) Try Many Trikes and do not settle on the first bike<br />

</div>Solid axles are a "little" poorer ride true , what is not mentioned here is that most solid axlel parts come out of the auto parts stores at a fraction of the price you'll pay for IRS.parts of course you must go back to the Trike MFG for those.In fact Champion provide you with across over listing for all axel and break parts. It's to each his own JMHO if your roads are good solid is the way to go , if poor well IRS is the best for you.<img src="images/smilies/trike 1 smilie.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Trike1" class="inlineimg" />
