Go Pro mounting

On another forum couple people said they did not like it on the faring because of the vibration and moved it to handlebar with ram mounts. Did not see any pictures posted of the faring mounts.

Has anyone had success in mounting a Go Pro to the fairing?

I just purchased the RICKRAK Go Pro mount and installed the mount yesterday. I haven't had the opportunity to ride and see how the photos or video's turn out. The mounts seems very solid and time will tell how the mount works.

I had a mount similar to this one but found that the playback was continually wavering.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-Go-Pro-...-batwing-fairings-Ultra-Classic-/281056672244

Going to try a fork mounted set up this summer and use the app on my smart phone as a remote control...

Will be watching this post with interest for new ideas...

Good luck with your search.

Cheers

That's a very similar Go Pro mount I had used on my 2009 Electra Glide Motor Trike.
As you said the videos were continually wavering because of the engine vibration and wind hitting the Go Pro.

Thanks to all for the responses. I wanted to start early, before the riding season hits, to get some good ideas.

I have been filming with my gopro for a few years now and have tried many different mounts and places for the mounts. However the one I keep coming back to is the one at www.hogtagcollar.com. This one mounts on the front fork tube just below the bell. This is about the only place that does not vibrate. I run the power cord from my gopro up and plug it into a dual USB powered plug in the cigarette lights. I also plug the power for the blutooth controller so I can hang the rec on/off right by my right mirror and this makes turning the gopro on and off as needed very easy.
