Anybody tried using auto style mufflers on their trike. I hate spending big bucks for something you can see. Would they have enough back pressure and how would they sound?

JJ, I wonder if there are car glass packs that would fit bikes, but the effect would be the same. To get the deep sound we like, the "highs" have to be attenuated (or cancelled out) and just leave the low sounds and that's what glass packs do. As far as back pressure, since you can see right thru them there is no back pressure. That's not to say you couldn't have a welder tack a piece of metal partly across the outlet creating an artificial restriction.

Also, as far as fitting it to the bike, if you're talking about mounting this on a trike where nobody can see the the joint that couples the muffler to the exhaust pipe I have seen some stores that carry "swedges" that will allow you to fit a slightly over or under sized pipe to another over or under sized pipe. But then you have the length issue to deal with. A nice down turn chrome extension on a Cherry Bomb glass pack muffler just might sound pretty bad ass if you were so inclined. They're not that expensive. Come to think of it if I ever damage on of my Vance & Hines mufflers, I'll give a Cherry Bomb a try just to see what it would sound like.
