GL1800 Underside Vulnerable

So.... had the '09 GW w/ '10 CSC Conversion :10: shipped to Cal. Side Car for some major warranty rear-end work done. 2 Weeks without the ride.
CSC brought it back to the dealer I left it with in NC... with thier driver.... and apparently as they were unloading it ... they damaged the coolant resevoir and it now needs to be replaced.
As I research some of the other forums.... I find:
"That coolant bottle is something taint it!! Yes you have to be careful with it, on or off a trailer or on and off a bike lift it can get punctured, and also just running down the road if you do not have a front fender extension it will get punctured."

I also understand that although there is an underbelly shield available for the 1800... some claim it wont work with the Trikes. My driveway is on a incline and takes a quick dip at the end going into the street. I see HUGE potential for this type of thing happening again.
Anyone have similar concerns/history... and more important, a good fix?

I had the belly pan on my '06 as a two-wheeler and had a Roadsmith conversion installed three months ago. Zero problem with the belly pan - it stayed right where it's supposed to. I also have the front fender extension - kind of like belt and suspenders. Strongly recommended.

I agree with all the above, I have the 2 piece Tulsa belly pan and fender extension. Not a lot of diff. in any of them. Charley

Wednesday, after a two week lay off from not riding, I am taking my trike (if my bottom holds out to get my new belly pan installed. The old one was torn up by going over a curb, but the collant jar and oil filter were undamaged.

Bought this one at www.cyclemax.com for $39.00

Just finished putting on stainless belly pan. little mod to the front
part but it fits....

the first time you hear a rock hit it and not your water bottle,
