GL1500 seat question

This winter I am restoring, and triking a GL1500 Aspencade. The previous owner stored her outside and the seat/backrests need some attention. I am weighing options on weather to replace the seat (hope not they is espensive), re-upholstering, or getting a seat cover. The seat itself is in fine shape, however alot of the stitching is coming undone. The upholstery shop said he would look at it and quote me a price to re-do it but he probably couldnt do it for much under replacement cost, going to see him this week. Lastly i have considered a seat cover. Can anyone recommed a good one for me. The seat I believe is OEM with back rests. and the whole shebang needs to be covered/replaced.

You might check e-Bay as I've seen re-cover kits on there for some Honda's. Recovering isn't difficult if you have a good sewing machine or you might just take the covers off and take them to a good shoe repair or seamstress and have new covers made. Upholstery shops will charge you almost as much as a replacement costs. You might also check the Gold Wing Delphi forums for a used seat.

Check out B&G Seat Covers (B & G Cycle Upholstery) - we put their seatcovers on last summer and they have been great both in very cold and very hot weather. Not too expensive, but look like a million bucks! If the seats are in good shape except for the stitching, these will work fine. Our trike was almost new when we put them on, but we recommend them for anyone. Nice, nice folks to work with. We were at their shop and they installed them for us, but didn't seem very difficult to put on. Check 'em out!
