My 89 gl1500 CSC has 205-70-14 rear tires and at 65 mph the rpm is about 3500 is that to high of a rpm. I need to replace rear tires also think of changing rims would it be good to go up to a 225 to lower rpm. Good or bad idea??

RPM and tire size are part of the equation that results in accurate indicated speed. The 205 may be the correct tire size for that conversion so before you change I'd determine if you are indeed indicating the correct speed then decide which way to go. CSC might be using a higher gear ratio differential so you have to turn it faster to get the desired result.

Good luck on you search. :xszpv: :xszpv:
