i susspect i will get arrested this weekend. the story starts back in Sturgis SD. my wife and i at sturgis bought a couple of patches for our jackets. mostly the usuall things like "i rode mine 2013" but we bought a pair of lucky 7 back patches which are not in any way gang insignia, but motorcycle themed.

Back here in Queensland Australia since we got home , the laws have gone totally out of control. The rise of Nazi Germany and the silence of those who knew better, but feared the dictator, is being played out before our eyes.
wearing the patch will probably get me arrested. but i know i am doing no wrong and will stick to my guns.
people have been arrested for wearing sons of anarchy tops. you cant go to a pub or club in a t shirt that has a Harley dealership name on it.

we cant ride in groups of more than 2 without intimidation from the police.
i went on HOGs ride last weekend. the police had been informed, and turned up in numbers. just tailed us for a while.

Sounds like our Aussie friends are losing their freedom faster than us here in the States.
Won't be long before the fascist demons will make us file for a permit before every ride we take.

Respect your Resolve Oneup. ThumbUp
Unfortunately, that is the firm stance and determined action MANY will have to take very soon to stem the tide of Tyranny in a Free World gone mad.
May we ALL stand our ground when our time comes as you have.
Time to stop ignoring and lying to ourselves,,,, IT IS Here.

So sad to hear this,,,. And at the same time, it's not surprising either. :(

Remember that phrase? "History is bound to repeat itself!" :censored:

There has to be more to this story. How can you be arrested for wearing a patch that says I Rode Mine In 2013? Is there some kind of gang problem that has forced the cops to "ban colors" as it is known here? How do the local laws provide penalties and no legal recourse? From what I understand, the news laws are specifically crafted to control the 26 "vicious outlaw gangs" in the province. Apparently there has been much MC gang crime and this is how the local lawmakers are dealing with it. It is scary that the first person convicted under the law was a mentally impaired man with no connection with any motorcycle group. The conviction was overturned, but I'm sure it caused much grief. Sounds like an overreaction by gov't. Happens in the US all the time, but usually with the EPA or some nutty gov't agency.

Even though I hate it for you guys it's a great post to read for those of us in the states . My reason for this , if the american people doesn't wake up and look around we're on the verge of living in those same conditions our rights are being taken slowly away ,one new law after another . I can't say what I really think without being deleted but I like a lot of others are getting sick of it . Not so much for me at this age but for my children , that's enough said I'll get my chance later . GOOD LUCK my friend this weekend !!!

Your only answer may be the ballot box to rid yourselves of the politicians who've taken your freedom. Those people just hate losing their cushy jobs.

What up oneup?

There has to be more to this story than what face value is showing?

 If this a crackdown on outlaws that are committing atrocities then i would say it is up to the people including other bikers to put a stop to it, If the result of the crackdown is that you are loosing your ability to ride and enjoy, it would seem that you have a vested interest in those privileges and a tee shirt is only a symptom of the problem?
 What is the difference between a right and a privilege?

On the other hand, taking your posts at face value suggests that Australia is becoming a police state, and i commend you for standing you ground.
Question Authority!ThumbUp

:xzqxz: It is pretty crazy that in todays world, Australia would succumb to the Al Cada type tactics prevalent in the Mideast ( Afghanistan being a case in point)?
When Govt. steps on people hard enough there usually comes some form of retaliation in an oppressed country that values freedom?;)

:p When police tactics cause the powers that be to fear people questioning authority, Their answer is always to excerpt more authority until the problems escalate into un-manageability and common folks begin to get hurt!

:AGGHH: It reminds me of the situation in our own country during the 60"s and early 70's when we witnessed violent social upheaval, peaceful people were being hurt in the streets and on our campus's standing against authority and becoming violent in their protest, and we found ourselves fighting for the rights of others to tell us we were wrong.( remember the song by the band stepenwolf, (AMERICA- There is a monster on the loose?) They were portraying the situation pretty darn accurately!ThumbUp

:xzqxz: Our people went nuts and our whole world was turned inside out. The people seen the returning warriors fighting against communism, standing up for the principles that our country was founded upon as a force of evil, and the Nam vets morality was called into question along with every other socio/economic issue of the day, which only resulted in further escalation of the problems.:xszpv:

:Shrug:I would pray for the day when you pack the powers that be into a kangaroo pouch and deport them to the Mideast but would not wish that on a Roo!

:)Instead i will pray that you personally don't place yourself in a situation where you are singled out to made an example of.

Be careful out there, Its seems your country is becoming a dangerous neighborhood, and you may not want to go in there by yourself.:cxtv:

:Agree:

I say get a couple dozen riders wearing HD Loony Tunes shirts. When you all get arrested, make sure someone calls the press to show how stupid those kind of laws are.

Vietnam veterans motorcycle club, which is not an outlaw gang got raided on their club night. 20 police stormed the building. the club has existed lawfully for 25 years.
hows that for respect. no arrests as nothing was wrong.
yes there is a crackdown on outlaw MC's, and some of them have been playing up like a second hand lawnmower.
the thing is the Authorities havent been so much as trying to stop the criminal element. there were sufficient laws to stop drug dealers etc, but they were never getting busted as the police are basicly out working on road works, or speed cameras.
this is a political beat up which has erroded civilian law abiding citizens rights to the point that no-one is above arrest and detention. technicaly you could be detained for going out for dinner with your family as you are a group of more than 2 people.
this will be challenged and overturned by the high court but this takes time.
the chief magistrates and head of the bar etc are all saying this is terrible, but it will take about a year to end the stupidity.

This kind of thing would never fly in the USA. We have a massive motorcycle culture here and all hell would break loose if it ever got anywhere near whats going on where you are.

AMEN TO THAT BROTHER ZOOK!
We have many lobbyists looking out for the motorcycle culture.

Don't sell the nam vets M.C. short, They really aren't the type to get pushed very far no matter their age!
And they do have considerable political clout on top of a don't tread on me attitude.
The legacy vets ain't allot different.
The police over here usually show a certain amount of restraint toward the Nam vets M.C. because their cause is international and well represented by lobbyists.
With that said i have still been witness to them physically correcting a perceived problem the rough way and the right or wrong of it depended entirley on which side you were on and your point of view.

Its not that the idiots in Washington aren't doing their damnest to take away our rights piece by piece, but take our motorcycle and gun rights away and the sh*t WILL hit the fan!
