getting anxious

I got a call back from the Old River Road RV Resort. They have a pull thru space for me. I couldn't make reservation yesterday because I was on the road. Will call them back in the morning to book JAN&FEB. I will then have an option to stay another month or head on to my next stop in AZ.

Can't wait to meet everyone and get some great rides in. My trike has been in the Hauler since 13 Sept. and my Indian is in the shop on consignment.:(:(

That park’s website looks really nice. Hope you get that space. Keep us informed!

I arrived Friday evening just before the office closed. Haven't been anywhere yet since Saturday was nasty and very windy today. Tomorrow I will get the trike out of the hauler and check her out and wipe the dust away. Staying at Old River Road RV Resort....site #151.

Looking forward to meeting some folks and doing some riding.

Hey Dennis... I will come over to the campground and say hello! Glad you made it!

Theres a couple trikers staying there. George is there. Theres enough bikers there to give you a good time. Ask at the office or look for bikes parked outside and talk them. They will keep you occupied till Jan And I get there on 2/15. Its a nice place but more $ than some others. See you then.

Yes, my neighbor rides. He is also going to change parks because of the price. When I get out and about I may look at other locations since I'll be on a limited budget very soon. I think they get you with the separate charge for electricity. The guy next door paid $130 for one month. Hell, I pay half of that for my house.

Great....think the water line froze up overnight. No water this morning...off to the shower...

Dec and Jan can get cold at night, but probably ridable by noon.:D

They all charge for electric for monthly! Medina Highpoint is cheaper and nicer but they have been bought out by shit head out of staters. We still have riding friends there. Skyline in Bandera, where we are, may not have space. Hill Country Rv Center is a mudhole when it rains. Pioneer is $320 but small. RiverSide in Bandera is $275, not as nice. Don't know about Farm Country. Best to stay south of US10.

Anywhere you go, let us know. I probably can get you a local rider to show you around.

I am not local, I live in San Antonio but can get there in a hurry.:Joker3:

If it's below 60 I may appear to you Yankees to be overdressed. Just remember I am a Texan and proud of it.

D/Tbl,

like I said earlier, I retired early, (55 yrs old) and never looked back...(my company was the same, if I stayed ten more years, I would not get a penny more from them) I sat down with wife and had the discussion....OUT THE DOOR I WENT AT 55 YRS OLD... Then I continued on working for my self for ten more years (doing heating/plumbing), and then finely totally retired at 65 yrs old... I get a full pension , all my insurance is 100% paid in full, my Social Security kicked in....My 401K , and investments IRA were large enough for me/wife to live for the rest of our lives (she's 55 and will retire either this year or next) ...My home paid in full, and never had any children, Sooooooooooo life is good..

January 15th, I'm leaving for a snow ski trip, out to Steamboat Springs Colorado, for 10+ days ("think snow") :D Then when I get back were going to a Caribbean Island, for some fun in the sun, for a few weeks, and October we have a trip planned to Spain and Portugal..... I tell you it was the best decision I ever made to retire early...............I went back to my old company just last week to visit (Remember I retired in 2005) and I could not believe my eyes when I saw all my old working friends still there working....:(:( very sad, not one of them ever planned or saved for their retirement.....O'well! **It sucks to B them** ENJOY!!!

Ronnie

I am watching close to this tread. Trying to get my ducks in row. Got about three more years, till we can travel in winter. Dont know where we are going to go, but for sure want ride alot. Got to come down and look around. Keep reporting, and sharing pictures

So You had 2 riding days. What do you think?

So far have only taken a 20 mile round trip to Walmart. I met Paws yesterday and she was going to try to round up a few folks to take a ride. I'll be contacting her in a bit. Next 3 days are looking mighty fine for some riding.

I just subscribed as a Gold Member so will be able to communicate directly to members once I'm added..

John...if you have contact with George other than this site, i.e., cell phone or e-mail, perhaps you could ask him to post which site number he is in at the Old River Road park so that we can find him. I have been over there twice and only saw Dennis’ trike and mine.

The more the merrier!

Will be nice to finally meet you and your wife in person also....Lola has told me how much she enjoyed riding with you two.

I be willing to ride up there! If someone would give me a place and time.

I have George and Carol's cell number. If you don't have it yet, call me.

It is looking like Saturday and Sunday might be pretty nice weather if Nuc and Lola would be interested. Friday is a little on the cooler side but not bad - showing sunshine.

What do you think? I will probably see DblTrbl sometime tomorrow and maybe we can get a ride planned out with you two .... AND WHOEVER ELSE WOULD LIKE TO JOIN IN...HELLO-O-O!!?? Maybe we’ll have found George to let him know. :)

I'm ready to ride so let's do it! Tomorrow I'll head out and fill her up with some fresh fuel. Just text me before heading over since I'm in the lazy mode and half the time don't know the day or time. Lol

Will do!

Only way to ride bro. Saw many scoots out today. Wish my health wouldn't hinder my ability to ride in chilly weather like I used to. Damn circulation issues in my legs monkey wrench that. Can't wait for 70* on a consistent basis. :clapping:

The road goes on for ever ..........

Yeah, not leaving anything on the table. My actual work day will be Dec 19th if everything goes as planned. HR told me I had to be here on Dec 31 to clear out of the company and turn my keys, badge and parking pass in. I explained that I will be half way across the country BUT, is she insisted I be here on the 31st, I would not turn my stuff in at that time and I would be to work on Jan 2nd. If I do that, they need to give me my 4 weeks vacation AND one week PTO. I would then sign out to use ALL that time and they can pay me for not being here. LOL Geez, guess what.... All of a sudden, I can turn my stuff in on the 19th and remain on the payroll thru the 31st. It's a holiday miracle.:D:clapping::clapping::clapping:

I will never understand why companies need to mess with people after they have been faithful to them even after being screwed over.

Sadly,it's all about the bottom line to the bean counters. Been there, done that with several major companies when they deep 6'd their corporate fleets because of the likes of J B Hunt, Schneider Transportation, Warner and the other irregular route carriers that cut freight costs so deep as to not make a captive fleet profitable. Well ........ The major idea behind a corporate fleet was the equipment served as a rolling billboard. That and guaranteed on time delivery, non weather related. 10 yrs behind the wheel of a pink Peterbuilt. West bound service road of I-20 near Midland-Odessa in the mid 80's.

:D And yes, I do miss that 'ol truck. (Crying)

We only have FB between George's wife Carrol and Jan. Not very reliable. Just ask at the office for George. We have been at his place but, Last I heard, he sold his rig and was in a cabin. I saw a group of trikes from Old River at Coopers Bbq in Mason last year so I know they're there. I will message a biker that lives by me in MI, thats there now.

Dennis

I'm sending Randy Smith over to visit. He lives a couple miles from me in MI, but he's at Old River now.

Find a Hill Country Ride map asap! The Butler map is best but $$. There is a free one that is good too, if you can find one.

Can you give me your #, I'm not a gold member. six1six fore nin ate oh nin 5 for
