This is a copy of a post I made on another forum about a week ago...not on a Trike, but still the same. Although I do feel a bit more rambunctious on the Tri-Glide than the Heritage. :)

Yesterday my biz partner and I rode about 100 miles...to a new shop in our area and back.

Me on my Heritage, him on his Stage IV Street Glide Special. I'm 57 and he's 29.

I was quite content at 60-65 on the back roads, and 75-85 on the interstate.

More than a couple of times I was doing 80 and he passed me like I was standing still...once on the back roads I lost sight of him, and when I did see him, 10 minutes later, he was on the side of the road, stopped, fiddling (probably texting) with his phone. lol

I thinks it's age a bit, PLUS, I just really enjoy cruising on the Softail. Whatever the reason, I have less of an urge to tear up the road than I used to...and I'm ok with it.

Age has a way of doing that to you...When i was younger i was always in a hurry to get somewhere, Now that i'm pushing 71.. I run on Indian time; When i get there' I get there.. There will still be There when i get There...:)

Be 59 in a few weeks. Don't know about you all, but for me, the dings and dents don't heal near as fast as they used to, so I'm not so eager to push it anymore.

Mine is: How did I ever find the time to work?
Then there was times I would ask my dad to do something for me being he had nothing else to do, he would laugh at me. Now I now why. Dumb ass me.

When I ride with other folks I always bring up the rear because I like to ride at my own pace and enjoy the scenery. If their in a hurry I know my way home and will get there when I get there. Life is to short to be in a hurry!

Been retired since I was 55. Now pushing 71 and I'm not really in a hurry to ride any place fast ! This is our 8th Harley and we love the HD TRIKE. Rest of my bikes were two wheeler's and I ALWAYS had the NEED FOR SPEED ! So much so that for 3 or 4 yrs in a row I have up graded my motors horse power every winter. NOW I just want a nice Bike that sounds good and looks good. I too usually take back of the pack now instead of riding point. Lot more fun and I notice things around me more. I asked my wife once while on a ride when did they get rid of that ? She said OMG that's been gone for yrs now :xzqxz:. She told me now that we don't do 100 mph from light to light yours seeing things more :) lol She's absolutely right ThumbUp

Janice's Aunt had the right saying, " Getting Old is not for Sissies"!
To many places to go, to many things to, to many things to see, & not enough time!
We are here for a very, very, short time, so enjoy it while you can, because 4 billion years is a very long time since earth was formed!

I've found after retirement that I take a little longer to get to where I'm going (on purpose) and I'm not in any real hurry to get back. All in all retirement is great an getting older is just the part that sucks.

Lots of people that know me,don't understand why I didn't buy another Boss Hoss. You guys get it.

68 in a couple of months, have a few issues related to Agent Orange and doing my best to enjoy life. I ride with the local Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Chaplain. Most places we go are wide open because someone is always running late and we are usually on a deadline. When it is just me and the Sweetie or all by myself, it is a lot slower and real scenic. I have a tendency to run down a road to see where it is going. Good health happy and safe ridin'. Jim

I am a retired LEO from Miami. I retired at 55, currently I'm 61. I still ride, weather permitting. Since moving to Tennessee it has put a hamper on my riding time. Cold wet ice and snow don't mix with a bike. But I truly love the roads here vs the mundane stuff I used to have in Florida.

At 69 I just leave a little earlier so I can get there on time. Some we ride with complain when they ride with us that we leave to early so I just tell them the route were going and they can catch if they can. [ they usually show up on time.]

We used to leave early and ride like hell all day, eat, sleep and do it again. Now we leave at a reasonable hour, cruise through the day, stop early and enjoy a little relaxing, an adult beverage (if you want) and conversation. At 67 years old and retired it makes for a much more enjoyable ride and I don't really have to be anywhere in a hurry.

I'm hoping theres such a thing as reincarnation...Because i'm writing a list of all the mistakes iv'e made in life so far... It's a living document because i might have to add to the list before i'm in the box...But anyway if there is reincarnation i'll know what not to do the next time around...... Gotta cover all the bases.. :D

If the Eastern Guru's are right it might not do ya any good, ya might come back as a bull frog, or a kangaroo.

I guess I'm the Old Guy at age 73 (74 in May) on this post.
Had MC's since I was 16.
I started on a 160 Honda Scrmbler. Wasn't fast enough, so kept getting bigger up to the Super Bikes.
Then I finally got smart and bought my first wing, a new 1200, Then a new 1998 1500 and now ride a 06 1800 GW Champion Trike, which was my retirement present to myself when I sold my pizza company.
Still in good shape and my wife and I do alot of cross country touring.
Will keep riding until I figure I have to stop.

Seems we can't have our cake and eat it too. I got both now after leaving S. Florida. I moved to north/central Fla. and ride all year around and have very nice roads with rolling hills and curves, although not nearly as good as Tenn. The other advantage I have is I can be up to the mountains in N. Georgia or N.C. and Tenn. in a days ride.
