Gear change lever.

Does anybody know how to adjust the height of the gear lever. On my GW 1800?I would be very grateful to anybody who could tell me.

That's a good question Mike. I don't know the answer yet but will have a friends 1800 on the lift table this morning so I'll take a look. Could not find anything about it in the service manual. :xszpv: :xszpv:

UPDATE: Well I looked. Could not see much because it is buried behind the lower cover. I have never heard of anyone adjusting the shifter position so I'm betting it can not be adjusted but who knows....... Might be worth a few minutes labor to find out.

It seems the lever itself is not adjustable, but I do know some folks have changed pegs and/or the peg mount to alter their foot position.

I ran into the shifter issue because of my size 15 shoes. I wound up putting on Ergo II footpegs and they moved my foot back about an inch which made the shifter position more manageable.

Mick, is this what you got??

If you're like me, you want to get away with a solution expending the least amount of funds. However, a heel/toe setup may be the best solution, although can be pricey.

I thought they were Ergo but the Kury pegs are Iso pegs that I put on. With my shoes or boots they move the heel back putting the shifter closer to the toes rather than higher up on the foot with the stock pegs. I got mine at Cyclemax.

Gear lever adjustment

Thanks for the info Guys.I have taken the left footpeg of altogether and rest my foot on the floor board. My right footpeg remains on so that it is a good fulcrum for the back brake. I'm thinking of building the left floorboard with a thick wooden plank, so l can change gear without raising my entire foot off the floorboard.
