Gatlinburg Shops

On last trip to Chattanooga, I stayed at a motel just across the line in Trenton, Georgia. Discovered I had a broken front valve stem. Fortunately Southern Honda in Chattanooga, Tn. had an employee living in Trenton, Ga. and he picked my trike up on his trailer and drove me and it 26 miles to Southern Honda in Chattanooga and they repaired it. Now on June 7th I will be heading to Gatlinburg,Tennessee and the Smokies. I have looked on the internet in case I have any troubles up there and found a shop in Sevierville, and of course if I developed trouble in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge (which is 4 miles from Gatlinburg) I would still have to be trailered. Does anyone know of a repair shop that will work on Goldwings in Gatlinburg just in case anything goes wrong? I like to be prepared and hope nothing goes wrong. Thanks for any help.

There is a trike dealer in Severville on the left going out..A few years ago, we were in Gattlinburg and cut a hole in the anti-freeze container takeing the trike off of the trailor..We went there and they were wonderful to us strangers.. One day and they had the new part and we were back on the road...Just get their phone number and you'll be fine..satisfied customer

We ride with a couple in Lebanon sometimes,,Debbie Hill & Larry Maynard
Would you happen to know them?? tommy and Barbara Loso Wartrace,tn

The dealer in Sevierville is Volunteer Cycles. Owners are Randy and Kim. Both are Riders and trikers besides being world-class trike dealers and installers with years of experience and satisfied clients. I am sure they can address this or any other need you or anyone else may have should you ever be in their area. I do suggest if it can be planned (not an unexpected emegency type situation) that you call ahead for an appointment. I have never known them to be anything but accomodating. Hope this helps.

P.s. Their number is 865-774-7170 and email is volunteercycles@aol.com

Veritas, thanks!! It's information like this that is invaluable!! At some point, we probably should put together a listing of trike-friendly dealers who have gone or will go 'above and beyond' to help out a triker on the road. Appreciate the input!!

Just love reading great stuff about Southern Honda since that's where I traveled to get my trike! And, I love the camaraderie of the folks on this board!

Thanks Guys. I have heard of Larry Maynard but don't personally know him. I guarantee he probably knows me as I retired from the local police dept. in 1998. Volunteer sent me a nice reply that they would come to me if needed and I appreciate that and you too Mtn. Man but I was just recently diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia and it causes severe fatigue so instead of the bike, I have decided to come in my Suburban cage. That way Sweet Thang can drive some too. When I get back, they will hook me to a chemo pump onb the 12th of June for only one week and thats all the chemo I will have to take but it will be another two months before I get over the side effects, but at least its curable. Thanks to everyone. You folks are great.

Aw shuck s its in our blood. I am coming on my trike after all. If I get tired, then I rest. As far as I know I don't expect any break down but one never knows. I wish we had a book available (Never mind GWRA's book) of folks willing to help someone out should they break down. I am no mechanic but my son, who lives with me and is a Harley rider, has a trailer and there several dealers not too far, say within 30 miles, of me and if I can help a stranded person I will so so. The largest dealer close by to Lebanon where I live, is Sloan's Honda in Murfreesboro and a smaller dealer is Howard's Honda in Donelson (a suburb of Nashville). We also have a general shop in Lebanon that works on about everything and its T&A Cycles. If I can be of help my cell phone is 615-456-0300. Name is Logan or just "Rawhide."
