Gas fumes

Last couple rides we have noticed at times a smell of gas. both times only getting 25 MPG down from 35mpg. Have not found any trace of a leak and nothing under bike after sitting all night. I will pull plastic off to see if I can see any thing. Any one have any thoughts as to were I should start search? Bike is a 2004 wing with a 2008 R.S. IRS kit. Bike only has 25,450 miles on it. I know first thing I will check oil for gas smell. Bike has to be under way before we can smell anything, very strange.

I have a 2010 GW with CSC and had the same symptoms. I have an auxillary gas tank and I never saw any sign of a leak in the garage or anywhere I parked. It was still in waranty so I took it back to the Honda dealer that triked it and they found a gas line from the auxillary leaking, but it only leaked while running. Quick fix and since, I have not smelled fumes again. I hope you find it because it drove me crazy to have a bike that smelled like an old hoopty

You don't state whether you have the aux fuel tank or not so I assume you do not. If you do, then I would suspect a leak in the piping.

If no aux tank, then maybe one of the tech brains will have a suggestion other than the obvious leaking hose connection which is the only thing I can think of. Since it's not leaking while sitting in garage and you smell it when riding I would suspect it must be after the fuel injection.

Lifted bike today and found no sign of any gas leaks or smells. I really do not want to start removing all the front fairing for a look at things. Treated fuel with some Sea Foam and will run a few more tanks of treated fuel. If that fails will head to an expert. Maybe had a injector hanging up but found no gas or gas smell in engine oil. Beats me?
