Gotta replace my front wheel bearings. I have an account with Motion Industries. I use a lot of SKF and Timken bearings at work so which would be the best for my Trike?

Thanks y'all.

Looks like it will be SKF as that's what my local supplier has in stock. Looks like I'll have it fixed today. :)

SKF and Timken bearings have always had more grease in them from the factory, you can verify this by carefully popping off 1 of the grease seals and checking before installing them. The HD bearings and All Balls not so much

Good Luck and do check back in;)

Turns out it wasn't the bearings, it's the tire. I changed the bearings and put the wheel back on, took it for a test ride after torqueing everything down and it still did it. Came back, took it back off and cleaned it real good to see the tire. I have some cupping on the left side (the side that just happens to wobble and shake when turning left) and possibly a broke belt in the tire. It's a Commander II that come on the bike so I have no idea how many miles it has on it since I bought it used.

All my shop has in stock are American Elites so I'm getting one mounted tomorrow. I'm just going to ride it over there and have them replace the tire and they can double check everything I did.

To be continued...

Let us know how you like the Elite. Had them years ago on 2. Pretty good then. Been running Avon on the 2 trikes & they have been good for us. Several have had a vibration with the Avon. Been thinking about an Elite for my trip in June.

Dammit

Well, it was the upper motor Mount again. The bolt had backed out and was hammering on the frame. Went to Bumpus and raised hell but they said about all that can be done is check it regularly and put loctite on it. Bullshit. Then when I got back from there, pulled in the driveway add heard a tingling noise. The other damned bolt had backed out. I put loctite on it and torqued it back down. Guess I’ll just have to keep a 9/16 wrench on the trike from now on.

i guess I’m good for another 4-5000 miles because that’s how long it’s been since the head was replaced for this same issue.
