Front tyre Pressure.

Greetings every one,
What kind of pressure do you put in the front tyre, I recently put 35 psi in mine is this about right, or should I go for 40?
When the trike was first delivered it only had 10 psi in it, no wonder it was a pig to steer, thought it was me to start with, needing to eat more weetabix!:laugh: Its a BMW 1200GT Panther trike,

Sounds good. 35-37 front, 22 rear.

I'm going with 41 lbs. I know if you want a little softer ride you can lower the pressure but your tire will handle the road better with the correct pressure.

If you have a Tri-Glide?? :Shrug: 36 is recommended.... With 40 you'll have a lot of bouncing on rough roads.

There are many that bought into the 41/42psi for trike front tires that started a long time ago! Why. I have no idea? I too, ran 41 when I first triked. Pretty harsh front for me but, thought I should do what everyone else was.
My BT45, reverse mounted, got 17k. Was cupped bad and the ends of the tread grooves were ripped!!!
Next one that went on has been run at 36psi. A much smoother ride and no problems thus far.
I have not noticed any handling difference in the twisties, just a smoother ride.
Who says 40+ is the correct pressure:Shrug:

Goldwing GL1800, Champion solid axle, Michelin Pilot Activ. I run at 40 psi in my normal riding area of the Ozarks. Other than the interstates and a very few other roads, there aren't many straight roads around here, and for the most part are in good shape. 40 psi gives good feel, good mileage and isn't harsh, though I have the forks set up a little softer than stock.
If I go north the roads straighten out in about 15 miles. If I know I'll be that way for a longer trip I'll drop to 35 -36 psi, especially if we are up in Minnesota or other states where the roads get rough and potholed from the freeze/thaw cycle.
