Does anyone install front Stabilizers to help the front forks from doing side to side when crossing bad bumps or RR tracks. If So, And do they help?

I don't think I have ever seen a stabilizer for the GL1500's. What you are experiencing is the forks flexing a bit and they do that independently. The popular fix on Goldwings is to install a fork brace. The most popular I saw was the Superbrace version.

This will dramatically improve your ride. However, on the 1800's the Superbrace got mixed reviews. The Kuryakyn is the better choice but that won't apply to you and Kuryakyn never made one for the 1500's.

Another one that would get really good reviews was the Blackwing fork brace but they haven't been made for a very long time now and are extremely hard to find. Some folks swore that the Blackwing was even better than the Superbrace. But just adding the Superbrace, you will notice the difference.

Thanks , I know I have a chrome peice added there . I'll look tomorrow if i have the brace or not already , if not i'll get one

There is normally a chrome or grey cover on top of fender there stock. The fork brace would be under that cover if you have one installed.

Mine wobbles when hitting a hole or bad on RR tracks. If downhill backing out of shop I really have to hold handlebars tight or it will turn handlebars to left or right all the way fast

Thanks , I have not checked the fork fluid yet if it has it. Guess I need to look in book. Mine has air ride I keep that about at 21

It has nothing to do with the fork fluid. It would be under that cover that sits on top of fender over the front wheel if you have a fork brace already. I'm betting you don't have a fork brace installed.

Thanks , I will have one soon.............if they have it in stock

Ooo, good question. I didn't even think about that...
Looks new still no scrapes or marks on it. drives smooth except what I have spoke of when front end wobbles over RR tracks or bad bumps.
I would like to find out from Champion when the kit was done????

It doesn't have to do with scrapes or damage on the bike. A rake kit is a different set of triple trees that the forks mount in to on the steering stem at top. It is where the handlebars are attached to as well. Rake kits will change the angle of the forks and position of the front wheel moving it out slightly. Most kits for Goldwing Conversions are 4⁰ or 6⁰ rake kits. With the stock triple tree setup, it will take some effort in turns. A rake kit can be compared to power steering and make turns easier. I hope this made sense.

Usually the factory triple tree upper and lower plates are black. Many rake kits are silver in color.

Sorry my bad . I thought he was asking if it was ever wrecked LOL

And if yours does not have it, you might want to look into one. They can get a bit pricey as well as getting harder to find for your GL1500. I know they are available at this web page.

You need to scroll down the page to see the ones for the GL1500. I'm not sure if yours will call for a 4 or 6⁰ one but there will probably be good info if you search on the TrikeTalk site using your model of trike.

New to site. Old hack rider.

My original 82 Aspencade with a sidecar felt mushy in turns. Steering would fade in turn. Honda hadn’t added fork brace yet on their big bikes. Found I could sit on ground and flex the front wheel against full lock. Old school Superbrace made the front end rock solid. Current rig has both a fork brace and VW steering damper.

Some say there’s an issue with head shake and damper only masks it. I say my rig runs true, brakes in straight line, no tire wear. Can ride one handed when straight line cruising.

Without the brace it’s a beast. So they’re right.

I haven’t ever ridden trike. Imagine there’s symmetry in L/R steering but is as off-kilter is a hack.

Thanks , yes I ordered one but has not arrived yet

Ok , my super brace arrived yesterday. I installed it last night but have not rode yet. Paper said easy 15 min install. But like always it too me 2 hours at least. My fault I guess.

It should be a noticeable improvement. You sound a lot like me, start on what should be a simple quick project and before you know it, it's time for dinner. Doesn't happen all the time except when I'm in a hurry and the click is ticking...
