No recall yet on this, but I read in the Harley thread about front plug wire rubbing through the insulation on the edge of the gas tank. I checked mine (2014 Triglide) and sure enough, mine was worn more than 1/2 through (5K mi). I put plastic wire wrap over the wire and brought bike to HD dealer. Dealer says they have seen this problem on other 2014s. They are replacing under warranty, but not making any changes because no factory recall has been issued. I don't think it a good idea to have the plug wire sparking to the gas tank, but HD must think otherwise?

You made me go look!! We have '09 and '11 Tri-Glides. I wasn't aware of any changes in wiring configurations. Neither trike's plug wires are touching the gas tank. Wonder what they did with the 14's. Thanks for bringing this up, MADE ME LOOK! ;)

My husband's 2014 Street Glide Special just had a recall for the brake line getting pinched under the gas tank.

"The following list contains the campaign number and a brief description:
Recall Notice: 0157NANRCL:2014 TOURING ABS BRAKELINE

We strongly urge you to take your motorcycle to your dealer to have the appropriate service performed as soon as possible. Should you choose to ride your motorcycle prior to this service, we urge you to be aware of this condition. Some product campaigns may have expired and you may have to pay for the service. Please see your local Harley-Davidson dealer for further details."

They pull the tank and check a brake line to see if it is pinched or worn under the tank. If it is, they replace it. If it is not pinched or worn, they zip tie it out of the way.

Checked my new 2014. YES it is rubbing. I cut some fuel line to length and put a slit in it. Covered the plug wire from the top of the plug up about 4". That should do it! :)

Good thing I worked for a Harley (AMF) Dealer in the early - mid 70's ... I do most of my own wrenching.

Thanks for giving everyone the heads-up. ThumbUp
