After finding out that the lens can not be replaced and the entire unit {$129} has to be purchased, I decided that was not gonna happen! Oracal 8300 vinyl Sheet. Cost me $10 for a 12"x30" sheet. The color when the bike is off is the same as the Smoked turn signal lens. And as you can see, when on it too comes thru yellow as needed by law. Yeah Baby!!

Your trike is most coolest!!!

yes I think you are right it is very cool with the smoke lens. ride safely fearless just kidding. :Joker3::Joker3: I have 3 suppliers with in ten miles of home I will be purchasing my own. thanks.

Very COOL! How did you apply the sheet to the lens?

A warm Day Helps....But I just started in the middle and worked my way out to the edges. The vinyl stretches pretty good - The heat from your fingers helps. I've never tried it before, but only took maybe 5 minutes and have no bubbles. Then used a razor to cut the excess around the lens, carefully. And just a note:

The lens has two raised Logo's near the bottom edge. I think if I where to do this again, I might gently file those smooth. I thought about it before I installed the vinyl, but didn't want to take a chance it looked like shit and now I have a dull, albeit smooth, Front lens. Not that it looks bad, and most might not even notice...but that's just me

It sounds like you applied this to the 'outside' of the lens? And if so did you remove the lens from the housing first, then put it back in after you applied the vinyl?.

Sorry for not being clear....Yes, I did apply it over the outside of the lens. I figured if you could take it apart off the bike - You could change the lens that way. I am sure the "Light" is a closed unit. I didn't worry about going over the edges of the lens - It was easy to cut, being careful, around the indent of the lens and bezel using a new blade.

Sorry for all the questions, but I LIKE your simple mod, and want to do it to my Black Tri-Glide. I found a place on line that sells it in 12" x 24" various colored sheets for just $3.95 plus $4.95 shipping. Did you use the light gray or the dark gray color?

Could you post the link or what site you found the sheets?
Thanks
