So here goes......
I have a HD trike and I decided it was about time I joined up.
I have been riding bikes in England since '74 and I owned a few Jap stuff until I discovered Italian bikes, first it was Laverda then Ducati.
I was enjoying Ducati ownership and the social that went with it until '06 when an idiot in a Land Rover decided to pull out on me and I ended up losing my left leg above the knee.
In Aug '11 I met a lovely woman who became my wife in January this year and I am now in the process of AOS so I can get a GC and in 3 years time citizenship.
Last month El Cajon Harley sold us a new '14 Trike. I can't hold up a 500lb 2 wheel bike with a dodgy knee so it had to be 3 wheels.
I am expecting 'my shit' to be delivered in the next week (after a month at sea and after being robbed by customs for the pleasure of intimately inspecting a few boxes) which contains the Kliktronic I need to help me change gears.
It will need to go back to EC Harley to have the louder pipes fitted and rear bumper and I am considering a replacement seat but it won't be a Harley one! If they can't a cumfy stock seat I sure as hell ain't going to give them more money for a better one.
So far the Mustang seats seem to be a popular choice but I have chosen a Kontour.
All the Ducati bikes had a Sargent seat fitted and I personally tested the seat on the 748 for 800+ miles in a day and the only part of me that didn't ache was my bum!
I have always liked ever since one of my mates had a XLCR in the late 70's and I was very close to buying one as well, but the lure of a (more ) Laverda was stronger.
Anyway I'm looking forward to getting out riding a bike again!
