Just got back from a 1100 mile trip with trailer, to see some family in Nebraska. Every thing went good no major issues. Had a headlight go out and brake light fuse blew. Rode in rain and windy conditions and lots of heat. Had a good ride and wife love the trike.

Refuelman, great news you had a long trip with only minor issues. I hope to be able to do the same as you once I get comfortable on my trike which I just got yesterday. It is most important your wife is happy. I will be taking my wife out for her first ride this afternoon.

Now your not a newbe at it Joe, you will be making more and more long trips. We take several overnight trips every year and we seem to take longer and longer trips each time. Enjoy your travel and seeing all the great sights this country has to offer.ThumbUp

Congrats on the long trip, I have done a few. This time of year it is important to stay hydrated while riding, get a cup holder and drink even when your not thirsty. Glad the wife loved it because if momma ain't happy, ain't no one happy.

OK NOW U ARE READY for the big time. Take 1-2 weeks and do a big ride. Ride 6 hours per day. Up early ride 2 hours. Stop for breakfast and fuel. Two more hours take a break lunch?

Two more hours, fir a hotel by 3 pm. Chill out have a drink. Find some local culture.

next day same schedule. Every third day take a break.

Thats how how I do my 4-7000 mile trips and enjoy every minute. Of course not everyone can take that much time. Put it n your 5 year plan. Ride safe.

Hydration is great advice. It is a must. When you get dehydrated you start making mistakes. If you do not need to empty your tank every time you fill up your trike's tank your not drinking enough. My favorite summer ride is the full length of the Blue Ridge parkway and Sky Line Drive. Its nice and cool up there during the summer.
