Good morning
I know rick you had yours done but the process can only be done if you purchase certain software to achieve success. by the way how does it run.
the code reader has a fuse under the seat see if that is blown, i had this problem.
My pcm came from a v8 van:xzqxz:
Dragon
Runs great. I get 30-32MPG up and down the mountains out here running at 70MPH+/-. If I'm on flat roads at that speed, I can get as much as 35MPG, but that doesn't happen very often. It's mostly around 30MPG. Yep, mine was from a V8 van and they were using half of it. If I remember right, timing was set at 10-11 degrees because of it being a van PCM and it was brought up to 21-22 degrees.
He thought we could get it up to 24 degrees without pinging, but I said I wanted to be conservative to keep it from pinging. The fuel mixture was adjusted and the shift points were slightly adjusted. It has 55000 miles on it now and it doesn't burn any oil between my oil changes at 5000 miles. If you remember, I did change the compressor, check valve and pressure valve for the airbags and I'm loosing only about 2 pounds if I don't start it for 2 weeks. I still love it. Rick
Where is the ODBII Port on the 08 - 09 ?
Thanks
Tom

So what is the part number on the pcm? Anyone just swapped in one programmed for a ranger?
When they reprogrammed my computer, we found out it was out of a Ford V8 van and TBM was only using one side of it. The shop did buy a program, I had to pay for it, to be able to get into it to reprogram it. I don't remember what it looked like, but it is inside the panel below the steering wheel. Rick
My theory is they did that because those computers did not have the PAT system natively incorporated. Has the guy who did yours done others? Can you share his info? I have seen your post across multiple threads and think the community would be interested in being able to tune these.
My Stallion is the only one he did. He was in the Phoenix area, he's retired now. You should be able to find a speed shop, with a dyno, in your area that should be able to do what you want. Rick
Seems like a bunch of people have tried without luck. It would be awesome if you could reach out and at least figure out what software was required that way we could bring that info to other shops.
