I took a lot of deer with both my Marlin's...45/70 and 35 cal...

Missed a lot at first with my Savage 99 f 308 cal..That was the first hi power rifle i bought [1959]...And It took a while before i figured out why, I was aiming at the antlers and not the brown spot...:blush:

I started using the Marlin because my shoulder developed a flinch with a 12 ga slug gun.

Then you surely won't want to shoot my 45/70 405 grains.....

I also have a New England Arms Single shot 45/70 500 grains as my walking around gun.

That will knock you back....!!

The Marlin was very accurate for the woods/range and had an excellent "minute of deer" scope.

To tell the truth the only time I feel the kick ls when I sight them ln When I shoot at a deer or Bear The adrenaline is so high I don't feel it
