Have been thinking of adding lower fog light to my 05 Wing. I was loking at the ones by Show Chrome. After reading the reviews I have several questions. Is there a way to eliminate the 1/2 inch gap they say is evedent after install? Is the light put out by the lights with a blue lens actually white? I thought the blue lens would look good with my Portland grey trike, but I don't want to violate any laws. Does connecting them without the relay cause any problems? I know it allows them to be used with and without high beams. And finally do they add much extra light with the 35 watt bulbs? Any advice appreciated...........Alan

I just finished installing this exact set of lights in a friend's wing. I did not notice any half inch gap. Might be a quarter in at most. No the light are not white. They actually have a very light hint of blue. Sort of like the blue/white auto bulbs. Over the years some folks have had problems with this style of power delivery system. I've got almost 170,000 on my fog lamps and have not had a problem. The bypass plug will not supply more power. All is does is eliminate the relay so you have to turn the lights on and off with the switch.

The relay is so the switch does not take the amps of the light. You can hook up a relay and still have the lights independent of the rest of the lights. Depends what u use to trigger it.

The relay that comes with that light set is simply there to enable/disable when high beams are in use. They supply a jumper plug to use in place of the relay. Either way the current for the lights is pulled through the switch. There are sources for power rerouting harnesses but this one is not one of them.

To relay or not to relay, that is the question. When I installed mine, I originally used the jumper plug, which lets the fog lights stay on with the brights. In some states this is not legal, so with the solenoid in place the fogs go out when you turn on the high beams. A LEO friend advised me that I might want to run the lights with the solenoid if I plan on using the bright lights, so I pulled the plug and put in the solenoid.

I just had the Honda LED fog light set installed and I don't have any gaps showing either.
