There might already be a thread on this subject but I can't find it. I read that adding a rider floorboard extension kit makes the ride more comfortable and moves your feet away from the engine to reduce the felt heat. Has anyone added this option and what are your thoughts.

I had them on my 2017 Tri-Glide.........They work as promised....Get them..:clapping:..

A mod worth every penny it costs. On a trip in July 2017 I was riding in conditions that were 98 F. and 110 F with humidity. It was so hot even through my boots that I had to keep sticking my feet out sideways. No problem since I installed the floorboard extensions.

I have them on my Freewheeler. Sure helps with the heat as well as a more comfortable position for my legs.:Dorag:

Get them they are worth it

The kit doesn't seem to look like much but believe me they are worth every Penny spent on them. Stay safe FredDSC00489.JPG

No they do not increase felt heat

Does your right leg get hotter from it blowing the hot air across the engine?
No I notice no increase in felt heat and I have had our Mighty Mite fans going on three years. Heat reduction is a program that all the little things you do add up to a great reduction in felt heat. Which less heat will translate into longer engine life. The spacers and love jugs, Air deflectors and tank lift. All add up to a much more comfortable ride. Remember that VTwin is a heat Monster if not managed. :good:Stay Safe Fred

Hi molokaimike :wave4:. The DK floorboard extensions were one of the first mods I did to my Triglide. I would not go back. They are great, well made and made my ride way more comfortable :D.

Another happy customer here for DK's floor board extenders. Helps with the heat but, for me, much more comfortable for my knees with my feet out a little more. These along with the air deflectors & tank lift from DK, all help quite a bit with managing the engine heat AND they are not that expensive for what they do.

I also have the Mighty Mites from Love Jugs.

I'm thinking about it, really never had any trouble with my feet where they are right now, on this triglide I have now or my old 2016 triglide, and my road king that I had with no problems either, maybe it just me, sure would like to find somebody around here that had it done to compare but with what is going on in the world I more than likely won't.

All for now Trampas

I never had any problem either, the first 10+ years of riding with floorboards. But then I put some Floorboard Extensions on and realized how much better it was.

It's one of those things that you don't realize how nice it is, and how cramped it feels in the stock position, until you try it....at least it was for me.

Now when I get on a bike or trike that does not have them, as often as not my feet miss the floorboards, and when I do get situated I feel cramped up.

We recently came out with FB16 Passenger Floorboard Relocators. They have up to 16 different positions for the Passenger Floorboards. They are a big game-changer for some passengers that just can't get comfortable with any of the stock positions.

Since we are under stay home, stay safe in my county and it's raining out anyway, I figured what better time to install DK Custom's floorboard extensions. These things are all and more what everyone here says they are. I haven't taken them for a test ride yet but just sitting on the trike I can already attest to the comfort they offer. Like so many others here on the forum, I highly recommend them.

Like many other things in this world they are not a necessity . . . until you've had them and then they most definitely are. Over the years I've added many, many necessities to my shopping list for each new bike / trike and footboard extensions is just one of many. Just do it. You won't regret it and wonder how you ever rode without them.
