The wife and I took an impromptu trip this weekend to visit the Flight 93 memorial. Decided at 9am, on the rode at 10AM...through a bag in the trunk and headed out...thats how we roll...
The Memorial site is still a work in progress. Roads are built to get there, but no running water or much else there yet. The middle of nowhere would be a good description for it.
It was very quiet out there, so much so the crickets provided much of the noise.
Very somber place but many heroic people call it their resting place.
The ride there however was fantastic. Took the PA turnpike through 3 mountain tunnels to exit 180 which is where the real fun began. Rt 522 to breezy point rd which 6 miles of nothing but twisties and rolling hills. The kind that your stomach is in your throat by the time you reached the top of the next hill...Lots of fun!
Rt 30 was nice, some commercial parts but some nice scenery all around. Stayed in Breezway(?) saturday night and headed home sunday. Approx 630 miles round trip. The rewaco ran great and a pleasure to ride It loved the twisties going by the smacks to the back of my helmet... A few photos, most traveling between 50 & 80 mph...she did pretty good for first try.
Weird, some picts are upside down, but when you click on them they are fine :xzqxz:
